They did a similar thing before Christmas with BIQ - replaced beauty programming with all those Christmas gift and decorating shows and BIQ did come back. However, I’ve got to believe the channel doesn’t get many viewers or generate many sales partly because it’s not carried by many cable providers (my Comcast provider doesn’t carry it, for example). So they could be throwing a lot of things against the wall to see what sticks. I’m in agreement that the whole channel could either get poofed, or change its focus. I don’t see how it survives as is, especially with main Q and Q2 still programming so many beauty shows.

Besides having BiQ full-time on a channel of its own one of the channels controlled by my cable provider has BiQ on it for parts of the day; they're obviously buying the time and it's probably pretty cheap.

I agree that this is a "throw things against the wall" effort to see what to do with the channel.

BTW, HSN2, which is next door to BiQ on my cable lineup, is entirely reruns and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere.  It must generate enough revenue to make its existence worthwhile.

So if BiQ gets scrapped, what's going to happen to all those hosts? If the Q just hired a bunch of new "talent" (insert obvious joke), I can't imagine there'd be enough work to go around.

Well, what jumps out at me is that she's implying that QVC is a secret, considering they're in 100 million homes.  Secondly, one could argue using the word fashion in relation to QVC.  mmv

Agree with your point. QVC wants to believe they're a household name.

Got news for the almighty Q. Just because your channel is available in 100 million homes doesn't mean anywhere near that many people are watching it. And quite a few of those who are watching aren't buying, just passing the time.

I posted this in the HSN forum but worth repeating:  Qurate reports

6.2 million QVC buyers

2.8 million HSN buyers

1.9 million buy from both

Just about 11 million total

This could be interesting : Alberti & Gobby doing Gourmet Holiday at 4.

I've never seen her do a food show or them work together?

What's the Holiday? Boxes of Valentines Candy and heart-shaped Cheryl's cookies?

Maybe wine to set the mood.

Gabrielle is not my favorite host. So I expect that she and Alberti would be just "OK" together. No necessarily painful, but not engaging either. YMMV.

They still have time to sell things for anyone having a party relating to a certain sporting event on February 3, so perhaps Corky's chicken wings?  Probably the Farmer Jon's popcorn.  Steak.  Mixed nuts.  Something sweet like cake or cheesecake.  Maybe some Valentine's stuff thrown in.  Perhaps a breakfasty item and a set of individual-sized meals.  There are my guesses.

Yeah, I forgot about "The Big Game".

I always laugh when they say that, and they're also afraid to say The Oscars.  It's The Big Award Show.

Yes, the NFL is extremely protective of the Super Bowl copyright.  A few years back they got some bad PR because a church somewhere in the country (and not a megachurch) advertised a Super Bowl party, the NFL lawyers told them to cease and desist, and it hit the news.

Is it true that Isaac's stuff is generously sized? I am tempted with a few of his items but never sure of sizing. BTW, his spokespersonmodel looks like she has put some weight back on. Said by someone who battles excess weight.

Halvah lover here too!! Chocolate Halvah only though.

Let's see.  From the beginning of the show:  Flavored sugars, protein balls, Rastelli steak tips, cookie-type waffles, Corky's seasoned pork tenderloins, My Grandma's cakes, and looks like a few other things.

Edit:  Add Mama Mancini's meatballs, and Anderson Seafood breaded cod, mixed nuts, and now those low-carb, high-sodium, tiny chicken parmesan crust "pizzas" you can also get at stores.

Next!  Valentine chocolates.

Maryland seafood cakes.

I'm thinking they've been stretching the definition of "gourmet" and "holiday" with their food shows for the past couple of weeks, in an attempt to capitalize on the Super Bowl.

Oh dear, Blabby’s doing her best June Cleaver impression to sell the Shark. I’ll try to be positive - I like the green color, and she has shapely legs. That’s all I’ve got!

The silhouette of this dress reminds me of the loud velvet dress she wore recently. She must love the way she looks in this style to keep going back to it.

Her hairline is drawn on. She and Diva are doing the same thing.

She's got size 12 feet (as do I). The majority of the shoe lines either don't offer that size or if they do, their "dressier" shoes tend only go up to size 10 or 11.

She is limited in what she can wear, if she's hosting a shoe show, unlike JRT who wears a more average size in which all styles and brands are available.

It looks like a shortened bridesmaid dress from the '80s. She was fooled by the "you can shorten it and wear it as a cocktail dress after the wedding".

@Thumper Maybe she does Stitch Fix LeTote or Rent the Runway and that's why we never see the same thing twice.

Seeing Jane's dress on live tv, the waist and bodice are way too tight.  She needs at least a size and 1/2 larger.

The shoes are cute, but not with that dress.  It's like she was in a hurry to get dressed but forgot to change into a more appropriate shoe for the dress.  At least the flouncy sleeves balance out her bottom.

I'm guessing she thought the metallic shoes would go with her gold jewelry.

At midnight Blabby said the Gold Bracelet TSV is "so bold that you don't have to layer it with other bracelets." A few minutes later, she back-pedaled so hard her shoes almost came off. Referring to the model, Jane told Dino "let's layer her up!".

When I saw that commercial during late night TV, the first thing I thought was this claim was totally bogus.  When will people learn that the porn looking Pillow King is nothing but a State Fair phony huxter?

Don't forget Sensa Diet Sprinkles.

I'm surprised Wen is still on despite me being refunded my money in a class-action lawsuit settlement.

(I wanted to try it when it first aired on QVC. Too many pumps needed to use 'according to instructions', 48 for my length hair, and

was impossible to rinse completely without my hair feeling greasy.)

Whatever credibility QVC originally had, has POOF!, vanished like wrinkles on my face (using an incredibly overpriced skin regime purchased via QVC). LOLOLOLOLOL  ;)

AS IF !!!!!

^^ I'm an organic and health food, unprocessed, and whole food shopper as well. QVC, I guess, would say the protein balls, and maybe -- the Germack snacks, Harry and David Pears, Honeybell Oranges, Vegan Robb's snacks, hulless popcorn, Good and Ugly Fruit and Nut Bites Oskri all Fruit Bar, Liberty Orchard Fruit Bites, Kind Bars.....AND there was some snack that said it was all natural, I can't remember the name -- something like Alamdora, acanora...it sounded Spanish and it stared with an "A"....., well whatever that brand of snake bar was......anyway...QVC would say all this things are part of its "healthy offerings." But we'd never know that 'cause the hosts sure never say what's IN the food, or give nutrition information.

I don't know about anyone else, but I know those are NOT what I am talking about then I mean healthy, natural, whole, nutritious foods. On one hand it MIGHT be a niche QVC could get into.....like HSN has the corner on crafts. But given the prices that QVC charges for its current foods (I won't say junk)....I wouldn't even want to guess at what it would charge for organic foods or foods that really could be argued are "health foods." It would make Martha Stewart's food prices seem like a bargain.

I think they have scallops or something? Those are pretty healthy although the suggested meals on set usually aren't. The fruit bites are basically no healthier than candy even if they do contain real fruit since it is heated to the point that any nutrients are destroyed. Why do they sell Kind bars? You can get those in any store.

On an unrelated note is anyone really creeped out by Valerie Parr Hill? I feel like her basement is probably decorated with the glitter and inspirational saying covered skeletons of her victims. Also new host Ali Carr is even more annoying and basic than Courtney Cason. Why are the new hosts hosting their own shows already?

Other than nuNuSandra, I still haven't seen any of the new ones.

Then again, I haven't been using the Q as background noise in 2019 as much. Since I now have an HD TV (thanks to Nephew #2 😁😍) I'm having a grand old time with Amazon Prime and BritBox.  (And I managed to binge-watch all the episodes of "A DIscovery of Witches" during the free trial period of Sundance Now, without having to stay subscribed to it. Go me! 😉)

Courtney K has Aims and several others quaking as they should be. She was a great hire. Can't believe some one at the Q actually recognizes that!

You got that right.  When I went low carb in the 90's I learned that those beautiful fluffy scrambled eggs in restaurants have pancake batter in them.  The food industry learned from the tobacco industry and builds in addictive ingredients in almost everything.

OMG, really? Wow. I guess it kind of makes sense when you think about it. They are suspiciously fluffy and have a weird fake texture that never happens with eggs at home.

I'm trying to reduce white flour and refined sugar right now and it's really difficult. 95% of breads, crackers, etc. marketed as whole grain have white flour in them hidden in the ingredients list where they hope nobody will see it. The only crackers that are actually whole-grain and don't have sugar or high sodium or anything are the crispbreads that are imported from Europe. All the breads that are whole wheat and don't have HFCS are the more expensive breads (the only one that has no added sugar at all is Ezekiel 4:9 bread which is super expensive). In restaurants it's essentially impossible in most cases to avoid these foods. It costs way more to eat foods that do not have unhealthy ingredients added to them -- either in money, or in time if you're making everything from scratch. It's almost as if the powers that be want people to have lifestyle related illnesses.
