Bran still the favorite with over 50 %.

Jon is in second.

Bran is the odds-on favorite (-150) to be sitting on the Iron Throne at the end of Game of Thrones Season 8. What does that mean? It means that odds are better than EVEN that it’s him – or in layman’s terms: It’s more likely than not that Bran will rule Westeros.

Jon Snow sees his odds go from +200 to +600, while Daenarys is now at +1200 to be the ruler. Bodog predicts that it’s more likely that Sansa (+800), The Night King (+1000) or Tyrion (+1000) will sit on the throne than the Mother of Dragons.

Jaime Lannister, somehow a lovable character through all this, saw his odds to rule Westeros ricochet from +2200 to +1600 to +4000 this week.

HBO confirmed that Edmure and Robin are back for S8.

But they've also confirmed that lord Glover and Tycho won't return for S8. Lady Karstark and lord Umber are back. And lord Royce.

A few thoughts, in no particular order:

1. Is that list exhaustive for recurring cast members, or is it just for 8x01? Either way, you'd expect Lord Glover to be in the mix if Lord Royce and Lyanna Mormont are.

2. Mark Gatiss initially said he'd be in two episodes, then said he wasn't returning, and if this recurring cast list is exhaustive for Season 8, it would appear that he isn't coming back. What changed? Rewrites?

3. I'm surprised that Lord Glover isn't back. He's one of the more recognizable Northern characters. Killed offscreen, maybe?

4. If this list is exhaustive, this also confirms that Meera isn't back, doesn't it? The outline from S7 seemed to suggest that was the case, but this would be confirmation.

5. There was speculation that Tobias Menzies was among the cast members returning from Seville, and someone on the ground at Stansted when they landed claimed that Tobias Menzies was among them. If Edmure is back for Season 8, it seems possible that he's at the Dragonpit, and indeed his presence would make sense if Yara and Robin are there too.

I think it's just for the first episode, but I'm surprised no Glover since he was kind of positioned as the voice of the Northern rabble in terms of xenophobia, which you would think would be relevant in the first episode.

There is no GC leader mentioned?

The GC leader was said to only be in two episodes in the casting notice, so I wouldn't expect to see him this early.

Where / when did they say this ?

I knew possible Robin, but Edmure was unsure.

I am so okay with Glover not being in this upcoming season. I wanted to reach into my tv screen and throttle him last season.

I'm fine with one less aggravating character.

I was hoping Sansa give him a stare down.

Just saw Michele Clapton confirm Sansa does get a new outfit.

Maybe we'll see it in the trailer ; or maybe not.

I had found the premiere's ID on the HBO schedule a few months back, but they just updated details today adding cast members besides the series regulars that were already listed.

If it's a "spoilery" outfit like her mockingbird dress, we're not going to see it in the trailer.

Considering Sansa had two (three?) costumes for S7 that looked identical unless you looked fairly closely, I'm not holding my breath for any big costume changes until the epilogue barring something crazy happening. I'm not expecting any stunningly beautiful "Dany's white fur coat"-type outfits, either. She'll probably be wearing fairly plain, black, long-sleeved gowns with leather belts until the epilogue, since Michele Clapton seems to have decided that should be Sansa's "look." Hopefully, she'll wear something different for Tyrion's trial, but again, I'm not holding my breath.

Clapton mentioned she used a lot of black in the final seasons because she wanted to show the bleakness everyone is facing. If the series ends optimistically then this may be conveyed in the characters wearing colour once more, with a less monotone palette over all.

Jaime, in addition to being nicely scruffy, is not wearing Lannister gold but Stark black. V-e-r-y interesting.

Regardless whether Jaime is wearing Stark-style armor, he's most likely at Winterfell -- those depressingly dark interiors are unmistakable.

Yes, I expect a riot of colours in any postwar scenes. Maybe the third WTF twist D&D keep talking about is Jon wearing a colour other than black or brown.

There's speculation at /Freefolk that he's actually at the Twins or the Inn at the Crossroads. With Tobias Menzies confirmed as having returned for S8, maybe Jaime mends fences with Edmure before making his way north.

I can easily imagine a scenario where Jaime only appears at Winterfell at a crucial moment of the 8x03 Winterfell battle to lend much-needed assistance, and not a moment sooner.

Glad the floppy fish is now confirmed. Having the Riverlands and Tullys back in the picture is much welcome. It's very possible that's who Jaime is talking to before he heads north.

I think this is an episode one listing as several actors like Marc Rissman etc. are missing.

Which means that we are going to get SweetRobin from episode one. I am guessing we will be seeing differences of opinion between the Vale and the North, now that SweetRobin is making an entry. Royce bending the knee to Jon and acting as if the Vale is part of the North made no sense.

I think Sophie got a new costume made in February (As per an interview where she talked about her last costume fitting). And considering it's most probable that she filmed only one other time after that in Belfast - mid April probably - the costume is probably for whatever they filmed in Seville.

Maybe it's her 'Lady of the Vale' costume after she marries SweetRobin 💖!!

Tobias Menzies being in Seville without any fanfare and paparazzi/fan coverage makes me think that he filmed something there. Which clashes with Friki's leaks. Seville continues to be a confusing mess of contradicting information.

I think he will get there sooner - maybe by the end of episode one. From what I remember, most of the time NCW was in Belfast, Gwen was there as well. I think 80% of his scenes next season will be shared with her. And then he would miss out on all the relationship drama that is happening in WF in the first two 60 minute episodes if he only arrives in the middle of episode 3.

On reflection, I think you're right. Vladimir Furdik (NK) isn't listed either. Still, it's odd that Lord Glover's actor is absent while the usual suspects in the Northern alliance--Lyanna Mormont, Lord Royce, etc.--are present.

I agree. I'm curious about what she was filming in mid-April in Belfast, though. From the interview, Sophie said David Nutter called her to the courtyard but she wasn't even filming there. I thought only the courtyard set was at Moneyglass, so there wasn't anything there except the Winterfell exterior set. Here's the quote:

Quote

"I wrapped shooting in Spain – like, the whole of Game of Thrones," Turner explained. "But I remember the first time, when I wrapped in Belfast with the crew that we worked with so often, it was in the Winterfell courtyard.

"I wasn't even shooting there, but the director, David Nutter, called me into the courtyard, because he knew it was my last day on set. He said to the whole crew, 'Sansa Stark is leaving Winterfell for the last time.'

"As you can imagine, I bawled my eyes out."

So she was on the Moneyglass set filming her final Northern Ireland scene, but she wasn't filming in the courtyard...? Or she wasn't shooting at the Moneyglass set at all but made a trip out for David Nutter...?

Quote

Maybe it's her 'Lady of the Vale' costume after she marries SweetRobin 💖!!

The first costume for Sansa in the show was light blue (which set her apart from her siblings and parents). Maybe she'll wear light blue again as Lady of the Vale and bring things full circle.

It doesn't make any sense to hide Tobias Menzies' presence in Seville unless he was in fact filming something for that 8x06 scene. If both Gemma Whelan (Yara) and Tobias Menzies were in Seville undercover, but Friki says that Yara is in the Dragonpit scene and Edmure isn't, doesn't that strike one as strange?

I still say the person at the airport in Seville didn't look like Tobias Menzies, but it is great that he will be in the upcoming season. Maybe Jaime frees/rallies Edmure as a symbol of goodwill to the Starks and they arrive at Winterfell together with whatever remains of the Tully bannermen. It might lessen Daenerys' anger at Cersei's treachery.

Since Robin will be at Winterfell to lead his troops and apparently survives to the end, I  consider him a viable candidate for the Iron Throne.

Let's hope he's improved his martial skills, because last time we saw him, he was pretty abysmal.

It occurs to me that Edmure should have a child now with Roslin. I wonder it that's going to come up at all. The whole reason for his betrayal in season 6 was to protect the baby.

Oh I don't know. If there is one thing the army of the living needs, it's unpredictability. I figured Royce was wearing that breastplate because Robin's arrows went off target all the time, like way off target. That might be the key to winning. Robin aiming for a WW and accidentally hitting the NK. Who could have seen that one coming? NK sure wouldn't.

You have clearly never heard of "leading from the rear." Robin doesn't have to be a skilled fighter. He just needs to survive with his men somewhat intact and the Iron Throne is all his!

No lord Glover in S8.

https://www.express.co.uk/showbiz/tv-radio/1063103/blackadder-captain-darling-tim-mcinnerny-dead-comedy-never-to-return

“People kept asking me what the plot is, but the more I was in it, the less I knew.

“I was a fan, so it was great to be in it. But it was very, very, very hard work — stuck in the rain and cold of Northern Ireland in December and January. I’m just sorry I didn’t get to do another series.

“They’re kind of ruthless, they do just kind of dump you – without so much as a by your leave.”

And

https://www.theguardian.com/film/2018/oct/25/tim-mcinnerny-peterloo-mike-leigh-important-prince-regent-blackadder

“He had been in Northern Ireland, not for Game of Thrones but for a murder mystery for Channel 5. There was no violent death, no explanation, just no call from HBO about which he’s a bit cross. “It’s kind of disrespectful,” he says. “Not just to me, but to the audience. It’s like nobody will notice Lord Glover has fallen off the edge of the world.”

That is so weird! Unless there was a BTS issue and everyone hated the actor, I really don’t get why they would ditch Glover. He and Lyanna M are the only Northeners that have had any prominence.

That’s really crappy of D&D. Glover may have been an asshat, but McInnerny had presence, and it will stand out that he’s randomly not there. It makes no sense.

D&D seem like they don’t treat or respect their supporting actors well. I will never forget how they talked about the actor who played Barriston after they told him he was going to die. They ridiculed him for being disappointed that he wasn’t going to get to act out his book storyline. It just seemed unnecessarily mean. I’m sure they treat the actors who play the main characters well but the supporting and guest cast not so much.

It’s strange that they would write out one of the most recognizable Northern lords just as the centre of the action is shifting to the North. I wonder if they’ll bother to explain his absence.

It might be an unpopular opinion, but I don’t hold the Barristan thing against D&D. The guy was an actor on a show where supporting characters are regularly killed off and where there are multiple deviations from the source material. If the actor had accepted his fate with good grace instead of trying to change D&D’s minds—which would have set a dangerous precedent had they caved—I doubt he would have come in for mockery from D&D.

I think it is disrespectful to ask from showrunners to change their creative decisions, Many characters were killed of or absent from season, two or three and no one whined about that.

There's nothing wrong with asking. The problem is that more and more often, it looks like showrunners cater to these requests.

I think the disrespect is the showrunners who are too busy catering to a vocal minority to appreciate the silent majority that are trusting them to tell their story, not just bring a niche's fanfiction to life.

Noh time, but Westeros most useless: Edmure and Sweetrobin.😩 I never gave a fuck about the Tullys and the Aryns, tbh I'd much rather have the Tyrells still. If those two have to be there, I'll still hold on to the hope they'll have five seconds of screentime to go kaboom or wight chow.

Vid of FK and Javi Marcos (creator of Los Siete Reinos).
---I'm just going to include that new information in the translation. If someone wants to know something else, please tell me know it.---

- Fk says that while the Tyrion trial is taking place, Winterfell is being rebuilt (speculation, not confirmed).

- J. Marcos believes that the motivation for Tyrion's betrayal is his pragmatism, he prefers to sacrifice a certain number of people to save many more, as Twin did when he organized the Red Wedding (his answer to a follower's question).

- Gendry is not present at the trial, so FK believes that at that time he has not yet been legitimized as a Baratheon (In this place, there are all the representatives of the Westeros Houses survivors).

- Both believe that who will execute Tyrion will be Jon Snow. There will be characters who will not share the execution of Tyrion, will see the actions for which he is condemned, as those of a hero (FK).

- Varys could be Tyrion's secret ally in his betrayal. First the eunuch would be discovered and condemned, and then it would be the turn of the Lannister.

- Fk says that Jaime Lannister does not have any kind of difficulties to enter Winterfell since they think that his troops will arrive a little later. Subsequently, he would say that he is only going to fight because Cersei is not going to fight.

That's all mates, have a lovely weekend.

Maybe Deepwood Motte gets over-run by wights on their way to Winterfell and Jon/Dany gets this info as soon as they get to the North.

I am still unsure of what the plan of action is. Are the individual lords of their respective houses going to be at their castles trying to hold it and defend it against the AOTD.  Sansa seemed to indicate that the entire North is going to hunker down in WF.

Mcinnerny's Glover suffered from D&D's plot driven writing for seasons 6 and 7. Plus,  D&D don't see the Northern lords as individual characters. The script keeps mentioning these characters - Glover, Royce, Manderly, Lyanna - as Northern lords, not by name. They are a monolithic mass - Northern lords.  Easily replaceable.  I think we will see several new faces in addition to already existing houses.

I get the feeling this was for some documentary filming for the end of the show. James Hibberd was in Belfast around this same time.

The last scenes these guys seemed to have filmed seemed to have been some small finishing touches for the most part. Kit and Cersei both mentioned how their last scenes filmed was just them going up and down a flight of stairs. Could be something similar for Sophie.

-snip-

Friki should just stick to leaks and not speculation. His speculations don't make sense most of the time, considering he is someone who has leaks. Jon is not involved in Tyrion's sentencing and yet executes Tyrion? What happened to the Old Ways?  I can see Jon and Dany recusing themselves from the trial because Tyrion was their friend- but then, Jon would not be the executioner.

I doubt Tyrion is going to get executed anyway. He's going to die an old man in his bed as he wanted.

I'm curious as to whether Friki is still going to get his usual detailed episode spoilers from his dubbing source this season.  From memory, he would get these a week or two before the episodes were due to air.
