Just introduced my kids (5 and 3) to this show and got them hooked!  Now they just spend their time singing the theme song over and over again.  I'm such a proud Mama!

So, after discovering that Mark Beaks is also as much Elon Musk as he is Mark Zuckerberg, I realized that in this incarnation, Scrooge is basically Warren Buffet.  You know, just one who goes on crazy adventures.

Not quite sure how I feel about them making Darkwing Duck a show-within-a-show, but it does give them an effective way of sidestepping the reveal a few years ago that Ducktales TOS and DD took place in different universes.  Plus, maybe there actually was a Darkwing Duck patrolling Saint Canard in the past, and he and Scrooge were friends.

Gyro attempting to replace Fenton with Manny the Headless Man-Horse was a payoff for a joke I didn't know I needed.  Particularly how Manny tapping his foot was subtitled when on the phone with Fenton.

Not gonna lie, I squealed at the Darkwing Duck cameo. And LMM playing Gizmo Duck was worth the hype.

So glad this show is finally on Disney Channel so that I can catch up! I wanna know what happened to Della. Just tell us already, Donald!

Having the original voice actors for Darkwing Duck was just fantastic. Great twist on the return of Bulb and I loved Gizmo Duck's debute and Beaks being more of his enemy makes plenty of sense. Oh, happy days.

I was really torn on them making Darkwing a show within a show but this tweet gives me hope we're going to get Drake Mallard as the "real" Darkwing later on:

Personally, I'm expecting a "all my adventures were real" thing with this DW. On the other hand, Jim Starling being an egotistical, washed-up actor fits DW's character perfectly, and you just know there's going to be an episode where Launchpad gets to meet him.

Wow, I need to catch up. I didn't even realize the show was back, until checking the forums just now.

For some reason, they are now airing episodes on The Disney Channel, rather than DisneyXD, which kind of threw me off.

From what I understand, it was to reach more audience members who stream DC more.

So glad to have this show back (after disappearing for months!) and both episodes were a lot of fun.  Gimzo Duck was worth it and I love the Darkwing Duck cameo.

16. New episodes go until the end of June. Season 2 will be 18.

Oh, I see. Well, they could have at leas simulcasted the show on both channels.

I just watched "The Spear of Selene" for the first time yesterday. Great episode. Now onto the next two. I just hope the mystery of Dell Duck is solved by the end of the series.

Crap, I didn't know new episodes had started either! How many have aired since it came back? I'll have to try to catch them on demand.

This was the first of the new episodes I've seen live, and it was a great one! Loved hearing Twilight Sparkle and Fluttershy as the Murder Ponies, not to mention Huey and Launchpad's running commentary.

Only Glomgold would call tails on a two-headed coin.

In addition to the great MLP references, it was a fun take on Happy Gilmore. I loved it.

It was a hilarious episode and even the Murder Ponies trying to convince them to die was hilarious. Especially when all of them including Flintheart were yelling at them "NO!" I lost it at the commentary when Flinty called tails on a two sided heads coin that he switched out himself. I just love the: "What a sad move." joke.

This was a great episode.  First off, it was a lot of fun, the animation designs were great and I loved the Scottish-inspired musical score.  But most importantly, this episode was so damn funny.

Louie and Launchpad's commentary for Glomgold somehow losing a coin-flip with a two-headed and flipping out with a riot.  The murderpony subplot (I'm so glad you can actually get away with saying this kind of thing in cartoons now) never got old.

Duckworth! And he's a ghost?!

Love that Donald just bolted out of the manor because it was Scrooge's birthday. And of course the whole mystery was planned by Scrooge just to troll everyone.

Well, we finally got our answer about Duckworth. He's dead and Scrooge hates celebrating his birthday. That explains a LOT. Liked that he had his design from the original show (mostly). Looking forward to seeing more of Ghost Butler.

Loved the hole plot, and that we finally got Ma Beagle, Flintheart, and Mark Beaks all in the same room. It's interesting how the main nemeses are working this time around: Ma Beagle just wants to rob Scrooge, Mark Beaks wants to make him look stupid, and Flintheart wants him dead (but is very, very bad at it). None of them are outright menacing.

EDIT: DT-87. I see what they did there.

Also, Scrooge owning Duckburg and leasing the land to the town is fun, but apparently stole the deed from Ma Beagle's grandpa? Grandpa Beagle stole the deed from the town itself first, but that's a major implication the episode didn't dwell on.

Finally got to see the rest of "Beware The B.U.D.D.Y. System!" and thought it was fantastic! Does Scrooge know who Gizmoduck really is? I love that Launchpad knows (and thinks Fenton's a robot). And yeah, having Mark Beaks being his and Gyro's nemesis makes perfect sense.

Some details on Launchpad's driver's license: Not only is Duckburg listed as being in CS (Calisota), but Launchpad's birthday was 9/18/87, the day the original series first aired.

So Lena is basically Magika's slave, a la Megara.

Man, I miss June Foray. New Magika isn't the same.

Loved Mrs. Beakly coaching Scrooge through the interview. Of course it went hideously wrong anyway. LOL that Scrooge's enemies were called in as counterpoints (and later took advantage of the money shark to steal the coins).

Okay, what IS it with that dime?! How is it so special that everyone wants it?!

Jaw$ is definitely up there as one of my faves (The others being Beagle Birthday Massacre, House of Lucky Gander, and Beware the B.U.D.D.Y System). Lots of gags and fun moments framing a genuinely emotional story. Seconding Lena reminding me of Megara, with a nice helping of Hotaru Tomoe/Sailor Saturn from Sailor Moon. I enjoy her friendship with Webby a lot. Also loved Scrooge having to learn PR with help from Beakley and her trusty spray bottle.

It has to be some sort of talisman. I know OG Magica wanted it for a spell because it was the first dime of the richest duck in the world, and maybe it's the key to bringing her out of the shadows in this version? I do like how she's genuinely menacing, it's a stark contrast to Scrooge's other main nemeses the Beagle Boys & Ma, Glomgold, and Mark Beaks. Isn't Magica the only one who wants the dime? Ma Beagle wants Scrooge's deed to the town, the Beagles want Scrooge's money, Glomgold wants Scrooge's money, his status as the richest duck, and also to kill him, and Mark just wants Scrooge to look stupid so he can profit off of it.

As much as I miss June Foray, her Magica was essentially Natasha from Rocky & Bullwinkle with magic powers (Magica was Italian in the comics). I just can't not love the fact that the Big Bad to the Tenth Doctor's Scrooge is voiced by Donna Noble.

I loved that the Beagle Boys were of course the first ones to show up and cart all the money away. I don't think the Beagles were ever this successful.

I also love that Launchpad thinks of himself as Dewey's best friend and calls the other two "Dewey's Brothers."

This episode reminded me a lot of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, especially the end. Alison Janney was a hoot as Goldie.

My, Glomgold has a rather vivid imagination. LMAO at him dancing with Dewey.

Love that it took Scrooge ten seconds to tame a bear.

"You love gold me more than you love me." "And that's why you love me." I swear that was a line from the original cartoon.

Especially considering when he runs into Goldie in the original series, her bear, BlackJack, chased him up a tree after he left her thinking she stole the gold the two of them had mined. Eventually though, they make up as it was discovered that she didn't double-cross him years ago and that it was Dangerous Dan who actually took it.

The funniest appearance by Goldie was when she jumped out of the cake with her trusty shotgun to stop Scrooge's wedding to Millionara. She was shooting at him for almost marrying that metaphorical gold digger. If he's going to be with anyone, it would be with an actual gold digger like her.

So Dewey's deep dark secret is that he does his own late night talk show? Okay...

Having siblings is a mixed bag. I don't blame the boys for wanting an "only child day."

Well, at least this time they have different personalities. In the 80s cartoon, once when they ended up wearing the wrong shirts, they didn't even know which triplet they were. "No, I'm Huey! You're Dewey!"

Haven't commented on the last two episodes yet, but chiming in to say that they were both great.

Glomgold is such an ass, but he's his own worst enemy. I loved that he danced with Dewey to one-up Scrooge and Goldie and Dewey STILL managed to upstage him. And I really loved the relationship between Goldie and Scrooge.

As for Day of The Only Child, Doofus is finally in the show! And he's even more weird and obsessive than the original version was. I feel like he was pulled off really well, and like the original show, I can see him becoming attached to Launchpad. I honestly feel like they can pull off Bubba if this is what they do with characters like Doofus and Duckworth.

Beakley's backstop was awesome! She and Scrooge were spies working for...Ludwig Von Drake?!! Boy, he's come a long way from those Disney sing-a-long videos.

Loved Beakley's 60s look. Of course Scrooge would lose the auction because he's such a tightwad.

Good to see Webby and Scrooge finally teaming up. And she's calling him Uncle Scrooge! Finally! Though I'm pretty sure he's not going to be calling her "my darling wee Webby".

LOL only Donald would be stuck in the pantry. And only Launchpad would drive a submarine blindfolded.

Gizmoduck returns next week!

I'm enjoying kickass Webby. Considering her grandmother is a spy, it's fitting.

Gummi Bears was one of my favorite cartoons growing up.

They had the recipe for Gummiberry Juice right: Six handfuls of red berries, then four orange berries, three purple berries, four blue berries, three green berries and one yellow berry. They didn't mention the triple stir and the bang, but maybe they aren't necessary with modern laboratory equipment.

I guess I'm dead now? I'm so glad I called it. Wasn't expecting Scrooge to be an agent, too. It's so fitting that their 60s looks were exactly like John Steed and Emma Peel from The Avengers. And if SHUSH is real in this universe, it makes my theory that Darkwing's adventures were real closer to being true, too.

And yeah, loved that the entire plot hinged on Gummiberry Juice.

Good call. I also thought of the Avengers and maybe Get Smart too. When you mention the Avengers, younger people would think of the Marvel universe instead, but my parents were big fans so I watched reruns with them growing up.  I just love all the throwbacks to the old Disney shows.

I feel like the Gummi Bears have been somewhat ignored. It only got one DVD release in the US while you can find complete DVD or digital releases for many of the other Disney Afternoon shows. I ordered the set from Australia to watch it again. Brings back a lot of fond childhood memories.

Whoa, I totally missed that the recipe was for Gummiberry Juice! Wasn't playing the closest of attention even though I was enjoying the story. That's awesome. I loved the Gummi Bears, and their themesong was second only to Ducktales, IMO, haha. Man, I miss the Disney Afternoon.

My DVR had this episode listed as the first episode of season 2. Is that accurate?

The wife and I lost it when Black Heron was mocking the Gummy Bears theme song. Also, what lead to Webby now calling Scrooge, "Uncle Scrooge" was really touching. Since in the original series they bonded over getting the Map in Antarctica from the penguins. I did love seeing Van Drake again and SHUSH and being a call back to the old Avengers cartoon. Even the robot thugs from the old Mickey Mouse cartoon was a great touch. Such a wonderful call back to old Disney Cartoons.

I liked that they referred to the Gummi Bears as "the Ancients," since that was the first of the Disney Afternoon shows.  Since there were humans in that, I'm holding out hope that the Rescue Rangers are out there somewhere as well.

The Prisoner as well.  That was a really deep pull.

Even if this episode was the only thing the show had going for it, it still would have justified the reboot.  It was even better than what I was hoping for. I need action figures or at least figurines of Scrooge and Mrs. B in their Steed/Peel outfits for my desk.

The joke with Scrooge not willing to give any of his money and saving SHUSH money was from Casino Royal. When Felix offers to give Bond his set of money since the UK only gave Bond a set amount and he is out. It's so funny how Scrooge and Beckley made fun of FOWL's plan. If you think about it, FOWL had some really odd world conquering plans. I mean except for controlling the planet's oceans. Their other plans were a giant rubber ball, stopping the Earth's rotation so once stays frozen and the other side has constant sun (which doesn't really work in the long run). So, having Black Heron saying: "They will bounce here and there and beyond a care." I was rolling, FOWL still has very wacky ideas for world domination.

Believe it or not, Captain America has a villain known as Dr. Mindbubble that creates bubbles like that that actually control people or have them live out fantasies and he wears the fedora. It's a pop culture piece to the T.

I love this version of Gizmoduck. And I love that Fenton's mom is a cop. I was kind of hoping she'd figure out he was Gizmoduck because she'd be astute enough to recognize his voice, but oh well. I did love Huey calling out Beaks trying to pass himself off as Gizmoduck: "You didn't think we'd notice that your faces are different?!"

Of course everyone first assumes Gizmoduck is evil and mocks him with bad memes. That's the age were in now.

LOL at Donald flipping out at the bank. And the Beagle Boy wearing a Mighty Duck mask!

Funny that one of the triplets knows about Fenton while the other two are clueless. Hope they do a callback to that.

I think it's more fitting that Mark Beaks is Gizmoduck's nemesis rather than Scrooge's. It's the Lex Luthor to his Superman. Of course the Lex Luthor of today would make him a Hero For Hire thanks to an app he owns and cares about buzz and popularity.

I loved the Sailor Moon transformation, even explains where the legs go in the armor. Of course Mark's Gizmoduck would act like Tony Stark should've realistically acted like as Iron Man.

I do wonder if they are going to explain Fenton's father in the current series. We never knew if he ran out of them or died. I do like that Fenton's mom is a cop and she is more obsessed with Spanish Soap Operas. Let's face it, they never explained why they were in the trailer park, it was suppose to be that they were just poor. Here they have a nice house and Mama works (I also like it better as Mama, is more common in Spanish than in the US). Little Bulb is hugely used in the current series than he ever was on the original series (including having his own snack pack picture). I do like how Scrooge wants Fenton as Gizmo Duck than Gyro. Boy, Mark Beaks really puts himself in major problems, he and Flintheart could write a blog "How I screw up my master plans."

I love this version of Gizmo Duck as well, and I loved this episode. It was a lot of fun and I laughed out loud several times. I was trying to remember if we saw Fenton's mom in the original, but the post above reminded me that she was indeed in it. Didn't she wear a robe and curlers all the time? I also seem to remember her having a brief romance with someone else on the show...was it Scrooge?

Speaking of romance, I wonder if we'll see Fenton's girlfriend this go-round as well. Can't remember her name...something goose-related.

This whole re-boot has been so much fun.
