S03.E03: Pinched Perfect

Recommended Posts

Paul helps singer Norwood Young find his voice again by performing a revision rhinoplasty, while Terry reconstructs the chest of a young mother whose surgeon put in two different sized implants, making them lopsided.  Also: The docs assist a woman whose earlobes are stretched almost 2 inches.

I didn't particularly dislike anyone this week,  but I rolled my eyes when the distended earlobe girl whined about it being difficult to get a job. Well, duh...

I'm only a few minutes in, but is Norwood's sister Jackee from 80's television?

Although she did look a heck of a lot like Jackee, his friend at the exam was really Kym Whitley.

Odd to have two people from Boulder CO, Earlobe Girl and Uneven Breasts Girl. Glad they both ended up with good results. I bet a lot of people who got a lot of body modification in their teens and 20s will end up regretting some of it. Older people getting stuff done, probably less likely to want to undo it.

Breast girl irritated me. I understand completely why she would want her breasts fixed and even if she didn't have asymmetry she should get the breasts she wants. It's her body. But to say she's doing it for her girls so they see her being body confident is a cop out,. Wanting to teach them to love their bodies by hiding her breasts and being ashamed (though to me I thought they looked okay) until she gets them fixed is the wrong message.  It's like unless you're perfect you can go swimming with your kids. If she really just cared about fixing the initial and secondary problem she would have discussed with the doctors how to do that instead of saying adamantly that she wanted to be a D cup.

I'm all for changing something if you feel strongly about it and can do it safely but she needs to just own that using her girls as an excuse to get it done gives the opposite message.  Plus, how weird was it she shows up at the river and the girls are carrying on at how pretty she is now that her breasts have been done.  I think this situation is a breeding ground for body image issues.    It's like a mom who complains she's fat and is obsessed with it when she isn't and wondering how her kids developed eating disorders or body dysmorphia.

Yeah, that lady with nose guy sure looked like Jacque!  Anyway, it was nice to see an episode where one of them isn't bsc.

Co-sign your entire comment. Truly wanting to be an example for her young daughters would be to model accepting and loving a body which is imperfect, but still healthy and natural, and beautiful. She got dealt a crummy hand a couple of times, and wanting perfect, symmetrical, D cups? You go girl! But those kids don't need to be taught that having them, or physical perfection generally, is some kind of requirement in order to be a happy and successful person.

If memory serves, I saw her on RHoA giving someone (Kenya?) tips on doing stand-up comedy.

I never thought of it that way. Good point!

Argh.   Sorry earlobe lady,   There have been studies showing correlation between numerous body mods and personality disorders.   It may not be accurate in all cases, but it's certainly attention seeking behavior,  and why would an employer go with an attention seeker when there are at least 20 more qualified applicants with better decision making skills?   Dumbass.

Boob lady:  a deformity is a cleft palate.  Lopsided boobs are actually very normal.  Get the smaller one on the same page with the larger one.   Her problem is thinking all boobs should be large melons high on the chest.   Any boob over the age of thirty should have some pendulosity.   Go back to Pam Grier's "saggy" boobs in her 70's movies.  That is what a perfect breast looks like.

I thought boob lady's new boobs looked too low and very bulbous and strange. Or maybe it was just an unflattering bikini top.

I'm thinking she has weird self esteem issues no amount of surgery can fix.

Google.  There are many articles.   Take your pick.   They may be right, they may be wrong.
