S02.E04: Chapter Four: Will the Wise

Yep, I was low key encouraging her. You want to know why? Because Hopper kept her in that state for a year! She knew why she needed to be hidden; that is why she never sought out Mike in that month she was living in the woods for fear of the "bad men" taking her and hurting Mike and his family. She was understanding that Hopper had to work and thus leave her alone during the day and part of the night. It seemed that Hopper didn't have huge issues with her until the year anniversary approached. In a perfect world with a completely even keel person, who would totally understand that for a fucking year she had to stay in a locked isolated cabin from civilization with the curtains drawn at all times with no end in sight. However El is 1) a child going through puberty 2) again been following Hopper's actually insane rules for a year 3) the equivalent to the prisoner from Plato's Cave Allegory after he/she discovers what was casting the shadows. This is a case where the girl's feelings does trump the larger picture in my mind. It doesn't matter whether or not Hopper intentions were purer than Brenner's-it matters that El was feeling like she was stuck in an isolated room with no kids to talk, all the more diffcult because the very first person she every made a true connection with she is unable to contact, so it some ways it was worse than being in the lab. I don't think El was as mad that Hopper forgot their Halloween plans, since she reluctantly accepted his make up tripple decker Eggo breakfast. She was upset that Hopper couldn't give her a straight answer as to when she could see Mike again. By the by, the television, which not only provided entertainment allowed to see Mike (how good that was to see but not contact the object over affection, is a debate for another time) and did work for a year.

I think you implied that the kids weren't given the massive seizure because they weren't capable of portraying it, not because it wasn't it their own character arcs. And no, it isn't obvious that Noah Schnapp is head and shoulders better than the rest of the kids, because he isn't (to me anyways, fine if you think he is the best actor), or at least at this point we haven't seen any of the kids majorly (or even minorly) screw up a scene.

The real question is why the hell is Jason being inserted into their story? I tried to get through GH on Friday and creatively speaking, Jason should have replaced with someone else. Robert and/or Mac would have been my first choice and second choise (I couldn't get through Robert's scenes with Sonny), Chase or Curtis would been good in this situation. But no, I had to deal Jason and scowl of disapporval. How it should of ended was Ava figuring out Ryan killed Kiki and losing her shit. If Ryan died that way, it would have been justifiable homicide. Of course then Ava might go to jail since that gets you 5 years in the slammer.

I don't know about Conrad Murray, but I think by that point, he had nothing to lose or gain, but listen to castrati on Youtube, the last one, then listen to Michael at 11, 15 and 22. He maintains the same range and has that high pitch speaking voice that everyone, both fans and haters alike, used to make fun of. Joe Rogan didn't have inside knowledge, he was only making an observation. A doctor thinks that he was put on cyproterone, which not only helped with the acne that Michael suffered as a teen, but stopped his larynx from growing.

    Leaving Neverland

Joe Rogan on his podcast said that Michael sounded just like Italian castrati, male singers casterated as young boys in order to preserve their child voices with adult lungs. Conrad Murray (the doctor charged with his death) said that Michael was chemical castrated when he was younger and never went through puberty.

    Miscellaneous Celebrity News

She isn't like Michelle Phan and Pat McGarth. (Michelle has a $500 million business, Pat has a billion dollar one). Michelle spent years building her online business with her make up tutorials and Pat worked 20 some odd years in high fashion and her way up to being the top make up artist. Even when Kylie was "cut off" (but wouldn't the show pay her because she is on it?) she still had more resources then either of these ladies when they were growing up with their working class single mothers.

You know, I wouldn't mind if Chase was the Jason replacement. It would be a good way to intergrate him into the canvas. Have Ava snap and be the one that kills Ryan once she figures out he murdered Kiki.

I think with Janet, who I think is very savvy, she also had the good forunate to be a lovely looking 20 something who could dance almost as well as her brother and a had pleasant, if limited voice in the 80s after Madonna burst on the scene. It has been said that Rebbie is the strongest singer next to Michael, but she was a 30 something with a husband and kids when she decided she did want a music career, and unforuntely, showbiz, especially the music industry is very ageist.

Some blogs speculated that Joe Jackson possibly handed over Michael to pedophilies when the Jackson 5 made their breakthrough in order to advance the group. Jermaine once wrote that Joe would have Michael in meetings with "important business men" and Michael would be sick for days after. It tracks with everything else we know for sure: the extreme plastic surgery (some child abuse victims get it so they don't look like the person that was molested), the emotional arrested development, him distancing himself from his immediate family.

My opinion none of the other kids on Stranger Things failed at their own emotional arcs either, so they also could pull off that type of seizure (and I am sure he was well prep to do it), we probably won't find out from this show. Nor do I think he has ever out acted or upstage any of his co stars in scenes with them. They all seem to be at the same level and I think they are all pretty much better than most adults. Noah is making the same amount of money as Finn, Caleb, and Gaten on Stranger Things and they did alot press together. (Millie's team managed to negiotate a higher salary for her, which I admit, I found unfair and she did the Stranger Things press seperately from the other kids). It just feels like he is a new character much like Sadie Sink's Max since we didn't see him for much of season 1. Also keep in mind that Finn was also in one of the biggest horror movies recently, "It" right after the first season of the show, was in another comedy, Dog Days, and performs regularly with his band. We will see where Noah is at, fame wise, once his two feature films (where he has the lead roles in both) come out.

Jason is such a self righteous hypocritical asshole, so its nice that he is keeping his core personality trait. As bad as General Hospital has been, it has been made worse with the return of Steve Burton and his air of moral smugness. I don't know how they would have done this, but I would much rather had Robert in this story since he is the brother of Kevin's best friend. Might be nice to see a team up with him and Laura. Is it in Steve Burton's contract that he is always the hero in everyone elses' stories?

I disagree, not the part where he is talented, that he is so much better than his fellow child actors. I found his seziure amazing but none of the other kids have been callled to do his type of acting because that isn't what the show needed, but all of them rose to the occassion in their respective roles for was. Nor has been lost on the Stranger Things or the media, at least completely; he did when win an MTV Award wheras Finn and Millie lost "Best Kiss" and the show was pushing for him to be nominated for a "Supporting Actor Emmy" and he probably would have gotten it if David Harbour wasn't also submitted for the same catergory (eventhough it should have been Best Lead Actor for him). Now the audience are hoping that he becames an LBGT character. The audience has a lot of hope pinned on Will's unexplored potential. People tend to ship, and because Finn and Millie have such incredible on screen chem, a lot of audience are rooting for that-its escapism, almost as much as the scifi elements of the show. On General Hospital in the 90s, Vanessa Marcil wasn't the shows best actress (that honor going to Jane Elliot everytime she returned), but because of her connection to Maurice Bernard's Sonny and her openness as an actress, she was incredibly propular. All I know is that Shawn Levy was incredibly jazzed that he could utilize Noah more in Season 2 as he said on the red carpet.

Because the show doesn't even bother to catch any of the small details (and this has been the case in JFP/Guza era "coast of Boliva" anyone?) is precisely why they aren't catching any of the big ones. I wanted to bring this one up for a while: Van Halen had a legendary rider where no brown M&Ms were allowed. If there were brown M&Ms, the promoter forfeits the entire show at full price. Turns out, it wasn't Van Halen being a bunch of self indulgent drama queens, but an indicator that promoters hadn't read the rider, which not only included M&Ms, but complicated technical instructions for their enormous stage shows. If they saw brown M&Ms, there was an almost certainity that stage wasn't set up properly, which was life and death. On better regarded shows like Stranger Things, Millie Bobby Brown made a comment that the costumes were down to the 80s underwear and Stephen Colbert made a comment about having the same bed sheets in the 80s as was on Eleven's pillow fort. What does this all mean? While I show like GH can't police everything to the details of Stranger Things, they refuse to watch out for little details that stuck out like sore thumbs to viewers, and dismiss said viewers when these mistakes are noted. I remember joking on this board about waiting for them to rewrite their history establish at the beginning of an episode by the end of the episode. All joking aside, it seems like they don't care, especially about the quality of their show across the board.

Robert Scorpio. Even the guy before him (who voiced comissioner Gordon on Batman the animated series) before the show decided to trash his character to make Anna more prominent. Sean Donely (I am convinced one of the reasons he was let go was because the actor came across as so cool, thus tarnishing Sonny's star). Per Mac Scorpio were all very good, until the show decided to take up residency up Sonny's Ass.

Yeah, but then she will have to apologize to Franco. A man that once strapped her to a bomb because she was convenient. But thats right, its ok because he had a tumor and a bad childhood. I am not looking forward to the line of people that will be apologizing to this waste of script. It isn't like he apologized or verbalized much remorse for letting Seth think that his brother Tom was actively sexually prying on women again, even though Franco actually had Tom in a dog cage when Seth was looking for Tom, which led Seth, who came across as a fairly decent person, to kill his own brother and go to jail. Or that time he helped Nina kidnap a baby after she attacked Ava (who I don't even like), or any of the other sociopathic shit he has pulled pre or post tumor. Was there a line of people that said that, "wow AJ, you totally didn't kill Kate!, I am sorry for blaming you." Nope, because the show would have to acknowledge that Ava is a cold blooded murderer and deserves her pain. Franco will get more justice in the end than AJ did his entire life so fuck Franco and his feelings.
