S04.E07: Kimmy Fights a Fire Monster!

Probably the fact that he looks like he could really manhandle a lady in the sack...in a good way...ahem...

    S01.E11: A Midwinter's Tale

Maybe I missed something, but...don’t the Spellmans do the Yule log every year? Why was Aunt Zee explaining it to the family like it was something new? It’s not like they only started doing it this year because now Sabrina is a full-fledged witch, right?

S01.E01: The Boy on the Bridge

Suuuuper late to the discussion here but when I saw the actor who plays Euron Greyjoy in the film “Overlord” I thought it was Daniel Bruhl, so...there’s that.
  4. I’m guessing that Balki’s twin was a reference to the cheesy 80s horror movie “Basket Case.” And the “demon in the puzzle box” is pretty obviously a Hellraiser reference.
  5. As a librarian, my biggest issue was the fact that her school library still had a physical card catalog. WHERE IS YOUR OPAC?!!! Also, if those books have been "checked out" for that long...just buy new copies for the collection :)

    S08.E09: Fire and Reign

I think the thing is that she is basically a mercenary; she sells her services to the highest bidder. In this case, it was the Anti-Christ.

    S08.E06 Return to Murder House

That pretty much sums up every season of this show, though the let downs vary in size.

    S08.E04: Could It Be . . . Satan?

I guess I watched a different episode than everyone else, because I thought this was boring. And I find Emma Roberts’ and Gabourey Sidhibe’s acting borderline unwatchable. I thought Coven was the worst season besides Roanoke. I do love Myrtle, though, and I’d like to see Misty back.

    Luke Cage

This show really seems connected to David Simon's shows. Last season featured like 5 (or more?) actors from The Wire, and now we have someone from The Deuce. I also thought that bit at the beginning with the kid on the corner slinging drugs and saying, "Got that Luke Cage" was a shoutout to The Wire.

    S08.E01: The End

Anyone notice that Adina Porter's character is "Dinah Stevens"...perhaps a nod to "Dynasty?" Oh, they'll mess it up, lol. They always do eventually. Agreed though, the setup so far is pretty interesting.

    S01.E06: Cherry

Yeah, there wasn't a weekly gangbang. It was where the team brought the most popular/lusted after cheerleader at the moment. Re: the pies in the kitchen...I assumed maybe they were leftovers from the Calhoun Day festival?

    S01.E06: Cherry

I'm guessing it'll soon be the "day" that Amma gets called on her bullshit and all the horrible stuff she does.

    S02.E06: Season 2, Episode 6

Maybe the brother wouldn’t allow her to marry and he prefers to have total control over her. I’d guess (unless I’m just forgetting something) that he went off to school or the Grand Tour or something of the like (those years he was away). I’m mostly confused by the timeline and Lady Fitz’s age. Liv Tyler looks great but she doesn’t look early 30s. Lydia might have some connection to the boarding school, which is how she discovered the secret about the child?

    S02.E04: Season 2, Episode 4 2018.07.25

The “game of flats” I interpreted as referring to two “flat” genitals rubbing together—as opposed to one flat, and one pointy. So yeah, basically what you said :)

    Scandalous Speculation

Or adoption (aka abandoning babies at an orphanage).

    S02.E04: Season 2, Episode 4 2018.07.25

At the pleasure gardens he made some comments like, "You and my sister have been playing a game for girls only," which implied to me that he suspected some attraction on his sister's part. I definitely don't think Charlotte is her daughter.

    S02.E13: The Word

This is true, but I think a lot of people don’t think this story really *needs* more than 2 seasons. A lot of filler happened this season IMO. Unless they moved on to the stories of other Gileadeans, I don’t think June has much more to do than attempt to escape, be caught, and escape again.

    S02.E13: The Word

Me, the whole show: "OMG JUNE, GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!" Great, another "fuck this"-type ending. I ask again: Am I supposed to feel bad for Serena? Because I *don't.* And I *won't.*

    S02.E12: Postpartum

Babies are incredibly precious in this society—that’s why the handmaid role was created in the first place!

    S02.E12: Postpartum

If we assume that formula is forbidden, surely there's another wet nurse-type situation? I don't mean to harp on this but I'm just thinking that there'd have to be other options if a woman simply could not produce enough breastmilk. Babies are too precious to let them starve to death.

    S02.E12: Postpartum

I just meant that they didn’t even suggest using formula to at least supplement the milk supply. If Serena was so against having June near the baby, I’d think she would be all for formula use. They just seemed so “The milk supply is low, what can we possibly do about it?”

    S02.E12: Postpartum

I thought Serena was almost hoping (even though she knew she wouldn’t) that she would miraculously lactate. She wants to be the baby’s mother so badly that she wants to experience that connection that only a lactating mother can have with a baby. She doesn’t want June to touch, much less nurse, the baby. Also, as someone who wasn’t able to produce enough milk for my own baby, it kind of bugs that this idea of “low milk supply” is somehow new and different? Does every woman in Gilead that gives birth automatically produce a ton of milk?

    S02.E12: Postpartum

This is what I interpreted it as. Remember how he asks Emily if she thinks the penalty for reading is fair? I think he’s haunted by what he’s done but it’s too late to change it.

    S02.E10: The Last Ceremony

Agreed—it wasn’t really about hastening the birth, it was showing June who really controls her body. I took the meeting with Hannah to be something that Fred was able to arrange using his considerable power (showing June that yes, he does have the power to do this) and he also wanted her to see that he had the power to take Hannah AND Nick away from her. Did anyone else notice that Serena had pantyhose on during the “birth” scene? The thought of wearing pantyhose while giving birth cracked me up. Speaking of the birth scene, do they not have a midwife at least “check” the woman to make sure it’s true labor? When I was having my baby it seemed like I had a nurse’s hand inside me every 10 minutes to check my progress! Maybe they should wait until her water breaks before they get the harp out, just sayin...

    S02.E10: The Last Ceremony

It’s the latter. He gets off on having the control over if and when she sees her daughter, and then yanking it all away from June. She pissed him off and emasculated him by first questioning his power and then rubbing in the fact that he’s not her baby daddy. He showed his power by dominating her body via rape, then by arranging the meeting with her daughter only to also take out Nick.
