    Shrill

I wanted to like this but they lost me when it became apparent that every person of color on the show was dating/sleeping with a white character. Then, of course, Fran's really good looking brother had to hook up with Anne. It came across as some white liberal fantasy; there were parts of it that totally rubbed me the wrong way.

    The Umbrella Academy

I really enjoyed the series but I thought Ellen Page was the weakest link in the cast. I'm sorry but the actress playing Vanya needed a little more oomph and Page was just doing her usual emo hipster schtick. She was my least favorite character, and I was hoping by the third episode that she would just go away, lol. They had a really jacked up childhood; they had a robot for a "mom" for goodness sakes and a talking chimp as a butler. Their dad purchased them and turned Number One / Luther into a partial ape. And Vanya was all woe is me, dad always told me I was so normal and I wasn't special. Truth is Vanya was simply someone who couldn't hack it in real life. And Ellen Page was probably the worst possible actress to play the character.

There were issues with how Dr. Don Shirley was portrayed. His family said the film wasn't true to him but then he came out that he had some sort of falling out with his family - and he cut them out of his will (don't know if that is true). Mostly, a lot of people felt it was another White Savior movie; personally, I didn't get that impression and was more disappointed that it wasn't about The actual Green Book. A lot of the outrage surrounding the movie actually left a bad taste in my mouth because of who was most vocal; think about that scene in Get Out with the work liberal whites saying they'd have voted for Obama for a third time. A lot of the criticism in particular from white people just came across as too over the top and too try hard, trying to show they are woke or down for the cause. I'm happy that both Octavia Spencer and Mahershala Ali now have two Oscars each.

Right. It wasn't my fave but I enjoyed it more than ASIB, Bohemian Rhapsody, and Vice just to name a few. I really wanted Roma or BlackKklansman to win but Green Book winning in my opinion is better than some of the other alternatives. (The film I really wanted to win wasn't even nominated so there's that).

I thought Green Book was pretty basic but critics loved it. It's been winning awards all season and it's got a friggin 93% audience score on Flixster / RottenTomatoes. It was also better-reviewed than say Bohemian Rhapsody. Crash is in a category all to itself.

Will Roma pull off Best Picture and Best Foreign Language film?

I'm excited Olivia won. Had Glenn Close won it totally would have been a make-up or lifetime achievement and I'm sicking of the academy doing that. It just continually messes everything up. Glenn should be a multiple Oscar winner already (Fatal Attraction and Dangerous Liaisons, anyone).

If this is a BCoop reference, it's also the fourth time that particular movie has been made. I think ultimately that worked against him. However, everything about this awards season has been mind-boggling to me. I do not understand all of the love that Bohemian or Green Book have been getting. Both were perfectly okay movies but I wasn't blown away.

I must be the only person who wasn't that impressed by Bohemian Rhapsody, and by extension Rami.

    Tidying Up With Marie Kondo

Hahahaha. Right. I watched the first episode and realized that as much as I enjoy Marie Kondo - I cannot with the show. I’m just over “reality” TV shows in general. I think this would have worked better with a three part special where Marie just demonstrated and reflected on her method. They could have dedicated like 30-45 minutes to each stage. That would have worked better than adding in these random families.

    Tidying Up With Marie Kondo

I thought I would enjoy it but I didn’t. People like this are just so ridiculous to me. The first mom has two kids, two! Not five or six, two - and she’s so overwhelmed she can’t do her own laundry? Most of these people probably need mental health therapy to get to the real root of their issues. Tidying up won’t help you in the long run when you can’t even manage to do your own dishes or laundry. Also, for the life of me, I just don’t understand people’s need to have so much stuff and junk. I don’t get it.

I've never seen people cross weakened, damaged, and cracked glass flooring so slowly. The whole time, I was like, "move"!! Also, Ezekiel really does need to pin his hair up on this missions.

Truthfully, I wouldn't have a problem with it. Unless I absolutely had to be there, I'd probably tell my partner to proceed without me, unless they didn't think they could handle it. But that's just my personality. And it has happened to me - I usually just do a quick group text with an update and go from there.

The only reason I'm cutting Molly some slack is that she didn't take credit for any work that Taureen did. She simply did the presentation by herself. All of the partners knew that it was a joint effort | venture by Molly and Taureen. I'd feel differently if she had been working with Taureen without anyone's knowledge and then boom she got in front of the partners and actually took sole credit for something they were both working on. There is a difference between the two. As for me, if I'm stuck in traffic or in another meeting and I know I have a presentation that I'm going to be late for or possibly miss; I'm letting the appropriate parties know what is going on. I know this show is fictional but my biggest takeaway was that both Taureen and Molly were sloppy; and neither would get very far in a real life corporate environment. Too messy, too petty, and not good at relationship building.

Molly sucks at office politics but I don’t think what she did was that bad either. It’s not that she didn’t give Taureen credit; all the partners knew it was a joint effort. She did the presentation by herself because Taureen had a conflict. All of the presentation could have been avoided if Taureen has let the partners know, in addition to Molly, about the conflict and the presentation could have probably been pushed back. Instead he tells only Molly and quite frankly kind of put her in a bad spot - becaise the partners are then coming to her asking where Taureen is. And that’s why every college student hates group projects. Taureen was being real petty with the aggressive Molly comments and then dropping off the case. He should man up and address the issue and move on. He could have easily pulled aside and let her know that he didn’t appreciate her doing the presentation on her own after she gave him the impression that she’d let the partners know and they’d wait to do it together - and tell her not to let it happen. He sucks at office politics too.
