Getting To Genoa You : Y&R Daily Chat

When is Nick gonna find out Billy screwed his daughter in revenge? I need Nick and Victoria to find this out. Summer is a grown ass dummy who volunteered for surgery to secure Kyle's weenie. Nothing Phyllis wouldn't do. Hell, if the situation arose, she'd have totally done this to Nick while saving Sharon so she could hold it over her forever. And if Phyllis didn't follow through on her threat to kill Billy if he messed with Summer, then she can shut it about whatever happens to Summer. Kyle didn't hold a gun to her head, Summer pimped herself out and in fact extorted him.

Since the show is apparently into doing flashback scenes to retcon stupid decisions, I vote that we find out that Fenmore and not Kyle ends up being Summer's baby daddy as we all know Summer is going to end up pregnant. The twist would be that it's not due to Kyle stupidly giving in to servicing Summer on their wedding night, but that after Kyle tore Summer a new one and blamed her for Lola's accident, Summer runs to Fen to vent and get some comfort and they have sex. Later she does the match typing and finds out she's a match to donate part of her liver and what we don't know is the reason she's hesitant is that she knows/suspects she's pregnant but when Kyle makes his offer of doing anything for Lola, Summer sees it as her chance to get Kyle, pushes for the quickie wedding and most importantly one night of wedded bliss so that she can plausibly say that he is her baby daddy. Fenmore may suspect he's the father but since he wants Lola and Summer wants Kyle he'll keep quiet. The truth is outed when Fenmore either can't stand the idea of Kyle raising his kid or the baby is in peril and tests show that Kyle isn't the father. Kyle having taken his duty as a father seriously is devestated that baby Diane isn't his daughter and Fenmore loses Lola when she realizes he put 'winning' her ahead of his duty to his child. I'm confused about what Arturo feels for Mia. What reason did he have to give into lust with her for this retconned boink? He and Abby didn't have a fight and he hasn't really seemed like he was as into Mia as she was into him. He dumped her right? 'Gave' her to Rey because he was done with her. So are we now to believe that he did have feelings for her? It seems like she really wanted him, but Arturo really wanted to reclaim her from his brother and is hooked on her needy passion but really not committed to her. On a different show with Mia as the heroine, Arturo would loosely be the Ashley Wilkes to Rey's Rhett Butler with Mia as Scarlett and realizing too late that Rey was the true blue guy who lived her while Arturo was just a player who really never was all that into her but since she fawned over him, he kept her on a string. We'd be rooting for Mia to dump Arturo but also lose Rey since she blew it and start over with a new guy (:: cough:: Devon or Noah or Jack:: cough::).

    Captain Marvel (2019)

Saw this yesterday and liked it more than I thought I would. Carol's origin has a fish out of water aspect in a similar vein to Steve's: she lost her memories and time and had to readapt to a home planet while he lost time and had to adapt to a world that had moved on. I can see them having a mutual respect /bond because of that. And I can see her as leader of an incarnation of the Avengers post whatever happens on Avengers:Endgame. Brie had some great moments of Carol's bravado being organic in some scenes or (to me) Carol playing brave to cover her own insecurities. We saw example after example of the woman being told she wasn't strong enough, good enough, and she's had to cover that hurt, pain, and rejection with a brave face that can come off as smug or condescending but by the end she wasn't fronting anymore. She wasn't repressing or covering anymore and she not only had the smarts and power to back up the talk, she displayed it and her control of it to give her healthy respect as a big gun in the cosmos. Gender politics aside, Fury explaining that following your gut in spite of logic and training was a nice voicing/nudge/counter to Yon-Ragg's drilling for Carol to become the best version of herself-although not the way Yon-Ragg intended (Major points to Jude Law for playing that 'I'm so proud of you!' so hilariously well. The man knows how flip on a dime and bring the humor. Which reminds me we need Spy 2 asap!) Having said that one of my favorite moments was when Carol was fighting Yon-Ragg and Co. during 'I'm just a girl' and there were moments when her powers were getting away from her and she would laugh and she was impressing herself with how powerful she was and you could see her thinking 'Damn! Gotta control better but damn I'm freaking powerful!' Carol and Fury had some mad chem. Fury seemed like he had a wee bit of a respectful crush on Carol. He named the Avenger initiative after her! Even Ronan was in awe of her and while I'm sure it was because of her potential as a weapon Lee Pace also was winking in some 'Damn, girl, wanna go get a drink' in there as well. 😂 Yeah, the Skrulls got a sympathetic story in this movie, but as pointed out their survivors are scattered across the universe and other factions may not be as nice as Talos and his crew. And it's not so outside the realm that if the survivors do all find each other and build their numbers and are led by a Skrull seeking vengeance the Skrull-Kree war is gonna kick back up where our lovable Skrulls aren't so lovable in the sequels. Carol's 'Where's Fury?! really got me. She seemed spent from hauling ass back to Earth, angry, worried, and anxious. While his dusting was surprising when it happened in Infinty War, it takes on a whole new meaning and gravitas when we suspect how it'll affect Carol. Still chortling over 'This is your science guy' exchange. Felt bad for the guy but he deserved the side eye when he said he could make the adjustments for the ship to be able to go into orbit.😂 But then he sacrificed himself to help Talos and the team get a head start and got redeemed big time.

    The Spoiler Collection

Better than anything Hope-Liam-Steffy related IMO. I'm so done with that triangle. Thing is once Flo's role in Phoebeth's trafficking comes to light she'll have a tough road to hoe with either Wyatt or Thomas since both love and care for Hope and Steffy. The only thing to keep Flo viable for Wyatt is something along the lines of if she had his kid and gave it up for adoption AND that Quinn knew about it but kept if from him because she didn't want him to be with Flo because she felt he could do better and deserved better. I could also see Quinn choosing to believe that Wyatt wasn't the father because she was determined to believe Flo was lying to try to trap him. This would bring back to the forefront how insidiously intertwined Quinn was in Wyatt's life and pathologically co-dependent they were. And if she cost him the chance to be a father to his own kid it's a nice parallel of how Bill was absent from his own life. With Bill it was a combination of his telling Quinn he didn't want to play daddy and Quinn choosing not to tell Bill she kept Wyatt but with Wyatt it would be his own mother cutting him out of his own child's life and that is some Fuller drama I can get behind.

And now suddenly things get interesting! Flo is Wyatt's ex and they have unfinished business? Now we know why she's getting a mom- for Quinn to have a part in the story. Now can it be revealed she gave up Wyatt's kid for adoption after he left? Hell, I'd take Deacon being her dad. Hope having a sister who has unintentionally done her dirty but really wants to make up for it would be great. It'd be especially awesome if Flo stands up to Steffy on her sister's behalf instead of being awed by her or kiss her ass. Nice twist, show!
  6. I suspect the only bone SC got as a reward for his Emmy was that he and Steffy would have a kid and friction with Bill - only for Bell to bring back Hope and dump Liam right back into a triangle with both women AND have a baby with each. Liam and the audience is locked into a neverending hell of a triangle. Ya'll know I'm a Liam/SC supporter but I do think the show could soldier on without Liam especially if the show had PF back as Thomas and pivoted him and Sally as the leading couple with Wyatt shouldering the other half of the load in young male lead in a triangle with Katie/Bill/Steffy/Wyatt. Or bring in aged up Lil Deacon. Or Jack Marone. With each of these young men, you have about 2-3 years great story that interweaves the vets into the story as active players and not supports/back-ups. This show has such a rich history they would never want for a leading male if Liam/SC bailed and if the show bothered to write the new male correctly and struck gold in casting. Remember how Oliver was the young male lead for Hope until SC came on and knocked it out of the park with every damn body? Then it was Oliver who? The show did invest in Liam when they brought on an actual rival for him with Wyatt but we see Wyatt for the last two years has been locked to a bed with Katie and then Sally. PF's Thomas with Sally was just what the show needed in having a core family legacy male BE the young lead on the show. The reason Liam wouldn't be phased out with PF on the show is that someone needs to fight over Steffy and it can't be Thomas. With Thomas on the show Liam was played MUCH more evenly and the show kind of thrived. The problem with the show is that they insist on pushing one storyline at a time for months at a time with Steffy and Liam in about 9 out of 12 months frontburner when they have LOADS of other characters they could give story to in order to even things out. Katie/Bill, Brooke/Ridge, Maya/Rick, Eric/Quinn/Pam/Donna, Sally/Wyatt/Thomas, Taylor/? Leaving Hope, Steffy and Liam out of this you can literally divide the year up between these six groupings with them each getting 2 months of story however you'd like to divide it up. Obviously you'd give them more than that but my point is this show has characters that can carry this show that get zilch in terms of airtime unless it's to support the ToD 2.0.
  7. You bring up a great point and to take it further, Bill knows firsthand how hard it is to try to help your wife through a mental crisis complete with her pushing you to another woman! This is a prime opportunity for Liam to miss having Bill as his sounding board and emotional support and be pushed to such a desperate state that he actually does go to Bill in a kind of 'Time out on hating you, I need my dad for a few hours' and Liam be able to talk through this. And for Bill to be Liam's dad. And for Bill to reach out to Katie for guidance and help with Hope which could cause friction with Brooke since Katie is helping Hope in a way Brooke can't. The other parallel I just realized (way late, I admit) is that Liam is tooootally his dad in that he got two women pregnant inside of a year. Kelly and Beth are the next gen Wyatt and Liam. Ha! So I'm guessing that makes Hope the Kelly in this and Steffy the Quinn. I mean it's not exactly the same dynamic because unlike Bill, Liam claims to love both women and want both children and yet you so know that in about 10 years when the girls are 18, Liam will be up to his dirty blond goatee in dealing with both girls feeling like he loved the other more. If I were SC I'd be making inroads over at DOOL to be a Kiriakis grandson and bail on this mess as it's only gonna get worse over the years. This is the fourth time they've had a traumatized post-partum woman push her husband away into the arms of someone else (Katie, Steffy, Hope each have done this). How many times are they gonna recycle these beats? Is Hope going to try to leave for Paris like she did after she lost her son with Wyatt? Is Liam going to let her go and only follow her when Steffy tells him he needs to settle this before she can take him back? Ugh, break the cycle!

    B&B : In the Media!

Supposedly Tamar is a SUPER fan of B&B even going as far as naming her kid Logan because she loves Brooke. If that's the case, I can't begrudge her pushing for a chance to be on B&B and hang with the cast if she could. 😉
  9. Mal's stuff should be gone sooner if Doug's return airdate is March 25th. He wasn't rehire until Mal was loooong gone, right?
  10. Justin gets on my nerves, but I'd still enjoy him in a real story with Donna. The show just dropping a reunited Justin/Donna and not giving them a second chance baby and Justin having to choose between his boy $Bill and Donna when she finally put her foot down about his treatment of Hope and Brooke makes me ILL. Donna being Justin's ride of die chick and scheming with him to take over Spectra would've been amazing. You can make peripheral characters have rich lives in the short scenes they're on. Since current storylines are, uh, stupid, I've been pondering: If the show is still on, who are Beth and Kelly going to be fighting over in 10 years when they're 18? Can't be Dino,Douglas or Logan or Jack Marone or Lizzie. Even Rosie Forrester is of the Logan line so she couldn't be an option for Beth. They'll have to bring in someone new but obviously tied to a core family. I feel like that only leaves a Spectra son or daughter which means hopefully CJ is getting busy offscreen to have a son or daughter to play spoiler with Beth and Kelly.

This is Amber and her mom all over again. But DR would make an interesting potential fling for Bill. Or maybe she already has a past with Bill and he's Flo's dad. Ha! If Flo is sticking around, she may keep Thomas' bed warm for a while.
  12. Harsh, maybe, but Kyle is nothing more than a notch on Summer's bedpost once she 'steals' him from Lola. Heck, she was just on about Billy and she sharing a connection only a few months ago so I can't buy any depth of feelings on her part for Kyle when it ebbs and flows so much. This is why I kind of wanted her to be pregnant with Billy's kid so it'd actually allow for her to gain some depth and maturity - if written well. As for being capable of hurting Lola? Summer caused the death of her unborn cousin by hitting a pregnant Chelsea and she also participating in bullying a kid into a near suicide. Summer can be careless like that about people so while I didn't think Arturo had any reason to think Kyle would violently attack Lola like that, Summer is a different story. Not that she'd violently attack Lola but that she'd do something careless or impulsive that resulted in Lola being hurt. I'm about done with Kyle prostrating himself for Lola who has become a bit uppity, but it's also been good character development for him and when the right girl comes along for him, he'll be ready for a deeper relationship.

This is when I hate the writers having people act dumb as hell for drama. Why would Arturo believe Kyle attacked Lola? What would ever make him believe Kyle capable of violent behavior. Upset that his sister was injured? Sure. Jumping to the conclusion Kyle was responsible? Stupid. I'm one of the few, the proud who likes Mia or at least her potential on the canvas. It sucks that the character is gonna go down like this. There is no coming back for a newbie character for this stuff and Mia is so obviously going to spiral and commit much worse before being killed off in a whodunit as soon as JT's murder is wrapped up. And the kicker will be that she will probably accidentally kill herself trying to get Arturo or Rey's attention. Neither Rey nor Arturo nor Abby are worth the drama. Mia easily could be spun in Devon or Jack or a returned Noah's direction - all men unlucky in love and rich as hell - perfect for a desperate Mia.

Don't get me started about Sam. This poor kid loses his mother and is a useless offscreen plot point. They should've had Juliet name Hilary as Sam's guardian and Cane and Hilary start an affair after they bond caring for the kid but when Hilary dies she leaves Sam to Devon so Cane and Devon could have a custody battle. At least then the kid would be pivotal. Meanwhile...Kyle think about this. Do you really want to go where your Uncle sleazebag Billy has been?

That was quick. He looks a lot like Wyatt to me, too. I can see him with Sally or Hope.
