S03.E16: Don't Take My Sunshine Away

But that would spoil our “shock” when finding out she had heard it. I can imagine, considering how frazzled her life must be, leaving the charger at home somehow, then her phone dying shortly before she arrived — just before Randall’s super-rude message. Wanting to make sure there were no messages from home before she sat down to eat, she took a quick look for texts and voicemails as soon as it had a charge, saw something from Randall, and listened to it. My husband is addicted to Waze and other GPS, and said that such apps really drain battery. I assume Beth hasn’t been driving alone to wherever Randall’s job is, much less at night in rush hour traffic, nor has she ever been to the “boss’s” house, so she probably had a GPS app running during the drive. So, easy to drain her battery, IMHO.

Guess it was just me, but I thought the person the detective saw on the video was the kid — Freddy? — they were interviewing/terrifying. The same hair and build. How would anyone know what a 10-year-old girl would look like 10 years later?

Once they sell their lovely home and move into a 2-br, 1-bath in Randall's building, they'll have plenty of money. As for Kate's speech, if I were Gabe I would have thought she was making all that up to guilt him into giving them up. She sounded so arrogant and entitled, not like someone grieving her mistake. Glad he blew her off!

A couple I know having their first child together had one of those parties. They gave the baker a sealed envelope from their doctor with the child's sex on it. The baker made a batch of cupcakes, just one of which had something of the correct color in it. So they found out along with their guests. It strikes me as odd too, but it's now a thing.

I so agree! He's an unrealistic carpetbagger. Oh, but if the city doesn't plow your street, he will be right down from Alpine NJ and do it with you! Maybe his magically alive Uncle Nicky will come by and help too. Because Nicky will have married Randall's now sober and magically alive mom! Unicorns and rainbows will abound!! And we know Randall will win, because his campaign manager said it's impossible.

". ..... why I think this show is important. It's always been preachy but we need it even more now." Totally in the minority here, but I personally don't need it even more now. I don't need to be beaten over the head with politically relevant problems in one of the very few "comedies" I watch. I read and support plenty of liberal news sources and am quite aware of these problems. I need some laughter in my life, undiluted by misery. All season I've felt it goes overboard on the politics, and only kept watching because DH watched. But now I'm done.

Thanks for the explanation, Doodlebug. I'd love to hear. some real yinzer accents on the show. But then I'd probably be confused at to why they were talking "funny."

"Skeevy"? Got it. But "yinzers"? I guess that means people from Pittsburgh, but why?

    S03.E07: Sometimes

@snapdragon said "Apparently I'm emotionally dead inside because I didn't feel anything when Rebecca singing made Jack cry. It was just all too cliche. Also, I can't get into their road trip storyline. If someone told me that they were going on a cross country road trip with a guy they barely knew, I would say, "You make bad life choices." And yes, I know that lots of shows have done something similar but those are usually teen dramas where you're rooting for the characters to get together. This show is aimed at adults and is supposed to be a little more grounded. Also, we know these two get together so glimpses into their dating life are just boring and have no real impact on anything else in the show." Thank you, at last I'm not alone. And actually I thought "Pittsburg good" was an appropriate description of her song. No competition for Joni M. I can't believe that the officer would just drop the brother off with Jack. Oh wait, he didn't kill spiders, so he deserves special consideration. I also take spiders from the house outside, so where is my medal? I like Kevin and Zoe together. I hope they stay together and have beautiful, talented babies. And so happy not to have to see Kate this week. Neither she nor her character appeal to me at all.

I expect I'll like your version better than what the writers come up with!

Nah, she's just voting for him because she got a selfie with The Manny. Now that's actually believable.

Then watch The Deuce. The full monty in the gay bathhouses and a few other times. There may have been more full male nudity than female this season, tho I haven't kept score ;-)
