Tidying Up With Marie Kondo
Valerie replied to SilverStormm's topic in Other Lifestyle Reality Shows
She definitely has some English capability, but I appreciate the interpreter as it makes communication much faster. I imagine being in front of cameras and having to stick to a "script" of sorts would also fluster someone not speaking their native language. I don't mind the subtitles, and just because she is in America doesn't mean she's "American". Marie Iida was on Instagram the other day answering questions from fans, and Iida lived in both the US and Japan growing up, which is how she learned both languages. She seems really cool. Re: the book issue. There was a lot of tweeting going on around and one of my favourite tweets was (paraphrased) "y'all acting like you have 1st edition tolstoys instead of The Internet for Dummies." -
Tidying Up With Marie Kondo

I've been using the Konmari method of folding for a couple years now and it really is the greatest thing ever. The show is adorable; Marie and Iida are so fun to watch. So far I think I've watched five episodes; the last I finished was with the younger gay couple. -
Would have liked to see Felicity in the green dress and Jinger in the cute plaid shirt and skinny jeans.
-
Yeah I dress rockabilly/retro style a lot so it's by one of my fave designers Hell Bunny. :D

Green velvet dresses are in this season. I think it all depends on the cut and style, bc I loooove velvet/velour and don't think it's childish. Here is the one I bought for Christmas this year: And here it is on me if anyone wants to see. :P I think Jinger's dress would look great without the ruffle, and depending on the length it would look a lot like the one in @Christina87's post.

They NEED to bring in Yoko Kanno and the Seatbelts to do all the music for the soundtrack.

Avatar: The Last Airbender (2020)
Valerie replied to SilverStormm's topic in Other Kids & Animated Shows
Let's all just pretend the movie never happened, mmmmkay. My only regret is that I only came into the Avatar fandom well after it originally aired; I believe I jumped in during the hiatus of seasons 1 and 2 of Korra, which I didn't like. It'll be exciting to experience the show in a more serial week to week format along with everyone else. I'm definitely hyped. -

I know, right? I sometimes forget how hella talented Hamill has been with voice acting all this time. I always got a giggle out of Mae Whitman as Katara. You know… her? And Jason Isaacs, aka Lucius Malfoy, was Zhao. I never would have known since his American accemt (er, whatever accent is common-tongue in the Avatar world) is so good. -

I didn’t even know this was a thing but I am HYPED. I didn’t enjoy Korra’s series at all. -
Personal Encounters With Doctor Who: "It's Bigger On The Inside!"

Both are adorable and I’m so jealous! -
Can confirm, the Korean skin routine is awesome. Doesn’t need to be products specifically from Korea but the method of layering watery products and targeted serums is game-changing.

The "Bones" Past Seasons Chat Thread: TNT, Netflix, and Local Reruns, Oh My!
Valerie replied to WendyCR72's topic in Bones [V]
I came here to say exactly this. I feel cheated of not getting that big cathartic moment. And it was implied they slept together in the episode prior to the finale after Vincent died but again, they robbed us of that moment too. Now that they’re together (I’m on season 8) I’m not as interested in them. That and I generally hate when a ship has kids since they don’t interest me... but I digress. I miss the angst and longing. -
I’m so happy someone beat me to this reference. Immediately where my mind goes.
