S08.E03: Part 2+ Married at Second Sight

I agree, I am NOT a fan of Luke and I detect major douche vibes from him, but I didn't think his comment about her dress was meant to be an insult or directed at the aesthetic of it at all. It seemed obvious to me that he was referring to the unwieldiness and restrictiveness.

S08.E03: Part 2+ Married at Second Sight

I was thinking the same thing! There was so little attention to detail throughout the entire venue. It's a shame because it was beautiful but if I lived there I would NOT book a wedding there based on what was seen on this show. -the aisle for the inside ceremonies had a runner that wasn't tacked down and was a total tripping hazard -that same aisle had lanterns lining the way that could have easily gotten caught up in a bride's train and tipped/dragged -the aisle was way too narrow for a bride in a large gown to fit by herself, let alone with her father walking next to her -no vestibule or awning on their approach to the ceremony -the uneven stone steps that the brides had to walk down for the outside ceremonies -no tent/cover over the guests for the outdoor ceremonies which apparently took place on the surface of the sun, judging by all the guests with umbrellas for shade -no solid walkway to the outdoor reception tent - poor Stephanie had to hobble through the grass in her high heels to get into her reception

MAFS Social Media, Spoilers & Speculation

Totally picked up the same vibe. He seems like someone who is totally lacking genuine sympathy/empathy/compassion but knows the right things to say to appear otherwise. I don't get the impression that he's physically violent either, but he definitely seems to have manipulative tendencies and alternates between insincere charm, passive aggression and flat out cruelty, depending on the situation. He certainly sets off my douche detector, that's for sure.

Eric & Leida: Put It In Proper

ESPECIALLY if bio dad is as wealthy as she has insinuated! For someone who is as obviously materialistic as she is, I would've thought she'd have used her pint-sized "golden ticket" to milk rich bio dad for all he's worth!

    S06.E13 & E14: Tell-All

I haven't had a chance to watch the tell-all yet but I have been reading all the hype about it. It occurred to me that when the public rakes any of these cast members over the coals their defense is always something along the lines of "don't believe everything you see on TV/reality TV isn't really reality/you don't get the full picture from 4 minutes of edited footage." So how come when a roomful of these pseudo reality "stars" get together - who presumably know all about the wonky editing and smoke and mirrors of "reality" TV - that logic doesn't apply to their "costars" and they proceed to trash each other based on "4 minutes of edited footage?"

S06.E12: Make It Or Break It

Unfortunately we weren't fancy enough for that. lol. We had the standard room with the hot tub on the floor in a corner of the bedroom (which we did make use of). I don't think any of the other several couples we went with had the fancy champagne glass tub- we were all pretty broke! That whole trip was a debacle! One couple we went with smoked their room out because they didn't open the fireplace flew, another couple overflowed the bubbles on their hot tub. After my XXX newlywed vodka binge I was horrifically hung over the next day. Another friend of ours bit it HARD face-first on the ice skating rink and wound up with a really nice shiner, and another friend tore his ACL on the basketball court. We were a pathetic bunch hobbling out of there after the weekend! lol.

S06.E12: Make It Or Break It

Oh no!!! I went to Cove Haven back in '99 with my fiance at the time (now my ex husband) and a bunch of our friends. We got selected for the XXX newlywed game hosted by Honest Phil. As a participation prize we got a VHS tape of his stand up routine (which is probably still in a box somewhere still in the cellophane). Ex-hubs and I came in 2nd place - and I was fall down drunk by the end because I mainlined vodka through the entire ordeal to soften the humiliation of answering those questions in front of hundreds of people including a gaggle of our closest friends!

Scott & Lizzie: Trick or Treat

Lizzie seems to fancy herself as the 2018 version of Pretty Woman. I think she THINKS she's being charmingly wacky and sassy and cute with the way she childishly skips and prances around in front of the cameras, "oohing and aaahing" over the endless wonders of a gas station convenience store and making all kinds of demands, but in reality she's about 20 years too old and 50 shades too crazy to pull it off. She's trying entirely too hard to play up her "character" and it's painfully and embarrassingly obvious.

In fucking Mechanicsburg, PA, no less! They've already made an issue out of what a spectacle he supposedly is in that podunk "white shore" town. Good luck with that "Skinz Jr."

Eric & Leida: Put It In Proper

Couldn't agree more. I actually started a post on Reddit about this same thing. To paraphrase, I basically wrote that in my experience, 100% of parents who proclaim "I've always been there for my kids but now it's MY time!" are colossally shitty parents just looking for an excuse to be selfish. When you decide to become a parent you give up the right to put yourself first and there is no expiration date on being a parent. If you've done a good job your children will leave the nest at a reasonable age and then you get a little more freedom, but they will always be your children and if you're a good parent you will always want to do what you can to support them through life.

Eric & Leida: Put It In Proper

Being a divorced mom, I can actually sympathize with Tania to some extent. It's a really delicate situation with so many nuances. If you're a responsible, and rational parent, you realize it's in your child's best interest to have open and unobstructed access to both parents and not to be exposed to any animosity between the parents. You also realize that kids sometimes do exaggerate and carry tales between homes and you have to take them with a grain of salt and can't retaliate every time the kid comes home from dad's claiming they don't like what's going on. I guarantee there have been times the kids complained to Eric about Tania's house - it's what kids do when they don't get their way. My kids complain about their dad sometimes and I have no doubt they've griped about me to him. There have certainly been times when I determined that their concerns were valid and I spoke to their father about it so that he'd be mindful of his actions. There have also been plenty of times when I realized my kids were just being bratty kids and were pissed that they didn't get their way so were trying to play me against their dad. As a parent it can be really difficult to determine when it's just the kid griping because they're annoyed with the other parent vs a legitimately unhealthy environment. When you start restricting visitation it pulls the child into the middle of a contentious situation that they really shouldn't have to be exposed to, so a responsible parent will REALLY REALLY try to avoid doing that until there is no other option. Even though Tania claims that her youngest daughter was mistreated and bullied while in Leida & Eric's home, I'm sure the little girl still wants to spend time with her father so it would be heartbreaking to prevent her from doing so. But obviously she doesn't want to expose her child to a toxic environment either. As a mother, Tania's options seem to be: 1) refuse Eric's visitation which could start WWIII and cause the child anxiety and heartbreak over not being able to see the father who she undoubtedly loves, or 2) allow visitation and possibly expose her to being mistreated which would ALSO cause her anxiety and heartbreak. Only Tania can determine when restricting visitation would be more beneficial than allowing her daughter continued access to her father. In a world where so many divorced parents recklessly use their kids as pawns to spite each other at every turn, I actually comend Tania for trying to be diplomatic and maintain her daughter's relationship with her father as much as she reasonably can.

    S06.E10: Backed Into a Corner

So Steven wants to abscond to USA with the baby because "he'll have more opportunities" How would Steven know ANYTHING about the opportunities available in America when it's clear he hasn't taken advantage of any of them??? He grew up in the US and is uneducated, homeless and unemployed but Olga, who grew up in a MOTHERFUCKING RUSSIAN ORPHANAGE is pursuing an education and has her own apartment and photography business. And while I'm on a Steven tear..."My son will NEVER grow up without a dad!"...but apparently it's NBD for him to grow up without a mother (aka his FOOD SOURCE!!!) This kid is such a complete imbecile he has zero ability to see the hypocrisy in everything he says. I seriously hate this clueless, narcissistic jackass. And as vile as he is, I think I still hate Leida more...
  15. I agree anyone who knowingly involves a child in a scam like he does is despicable and among the lowest of the low. But in my opinion, Nicole is even more so - SHE is May's mother and SHE should be the one protecting her and making her a priority. SHE should be looking out for this child's welfare and best interests. It's far more disgusting for this child to be disregarded by her own mother than it is when a stranger/scam artist with no real connection to her does it. PS - sorry for my rant, but as a mother myself, I just can never ever fathom how these parents (Danielle, Nicole, Molly, David, Josh - I'm looking at you!) can disregard their children's needs and safety so thoughtlessly and there is no one lower than a parent who doesn't keep their child safe, in my opinion. Even animals know better. *rant over*
