    S38 Preview & Speculation Thread

It's tough to predict what happens since the reveal of the EOE people will completely throw a wrench into everything. If it's like the outcast tribe in Pearl Islands, we'll have a three-tribe challenge (EOE vs. two groups of six, comprised of the people in the game), and the EOE will get to send one person back into the game for every tribe they defeat. And if it's like Redemption Island, the EOE will continue after this challenge, so the remaining players will now go forward knowing they have a backup plan in case they're voted out. Am I the only one who's annoyed they're actually revealing the EOE twist this early? Maybe I was misinterpreting the preseason hype, but my understanding was that the eliminated players wouldn't get a chance back until close to the very end of the game. So in Reem's case, she'd have to tough it out for over four weeks before finally getting her chance.

    S38.E04: I Need a Dance Partner

Wow, who knew there were so many Browns fans on the Survivor forums? I wonder why this show would appeal to fans of a once-mighty franchise whose best days are behind it....oh wait....

I was hoping that we'd see a classic Survivor swing vote elimination, but I guess Kelley and David never got their heads together to think "hey, should we just vote out Wardog?" Then again, if Wardog was even willing to eliminate Chris to protect Kelley last week, his chief alliance is clearly with her at this point. The only other non-switch tribe switch in Survivor history that I can recall was in All-Stars, when Amber was the only one to move to new tribe. So this obviously means that Wendy will win, then end up marrying one of her old Manu tribemates.

It'll be really annoying if we get another reinforcement of the status quo, like it ends up 3-2 Kama in every tribe.

S38.E03: Betrayals Are Going to Get Exposed

Can you blame her? Her tribe has lost every challenge, she's gotten votes at every TC, and she is held up by everyone as the big looming threat of the game while David (just as good if even a better player) slides along totally under the radar.

Could there BE any more options on that idol menu?

In fairness to Keith, we've heard of contestants not officially getting the call until only a few days before shooting begins. Even if he knew a month in advance and started taking swimming lessons as prep, there's only so much you can learn in a short amount of time. Swimming is hard to learn! Especially if you're an adult! No, I'm not defensive about not learning to swim until I was in my 30's! 🙂 Survivor premieres should be a minimum of 90 minutes long. I also may have been spoiled by last season's great first episode, that seemingly introduced almost everyone or gave them some type of moment of focus. I'm not sure if I would've wanted to see the scene where this clown told everyone to call him "Wardog," or if it was better left on the cutting room floor.

    Frasier

It kind of made me wish the producers had stumbled upon Jane Adams a few years earlier, since I think she actually could've been Maris if Maris had been made into an actual character.

    S37.E13: Finale

I recall some interview where a contestant (or maybe Jeff himself) said that at every tribal council, Jeff still asks the challenge winner if they want to give up their immunity, but they always edit it out of the show since the winners have always said no. This was several years ago, though, so things may have changed. But if they ever start showing Jeff's questions again, that'll be a hint that someone surrenders immunity in a future season.

    The Apprentice [UK]

Sugar was 100 percent correct in saying that Tom being pushed into the PM role was a tactical move by the ladies, particularly Jackie. And it backfired on her, since Tom was somehow too dense to realize that Jackie should've absolutely been one of the on-air presenters. Who cares if Khadija "wanted a turn" or "showed more passion" in asking for it? Too many of these contestants don't seem to realize that the best and only "tactic" you should be employing is to just win the task. Even if it's just delaying the inevitable, you can't get fired if you aren't in the boardroom. The final dollar amount ended up being narrow enough that Jackie being more energetic and smooth on camera absolutely could've resulted in the few extra sales that the team required.

S37: David vs. Goliath: Previews & Speculation without Spoilers

Not that I think the "Strike Force" alliance will get back together, but it just occurred to me that all six are still in the game --- Mike, Gabby, Christian, Nick, Alison, Alec.

    S37:E09 Breadth-First Search

I don't think the Davids needed to actually KNOW Dan had another idol. They were clearly intent on getting Dan out no matter what, and played the nullifier on him to ensure that he was definitely going home. This way... a) Dan plays the idol, it's blocked, and he gets eliminated (which is what happened) b) another Goliath with the HII panics over Nick's vote-steal, plays their HII to protect themselves and it doesn't matter since Dan was the target. Or, other Goliath with the HII plays it on Dan, and it doesn't count because of the nullifier. Real big winner here is Christian, who still has his own idol to protect himself, while his tribemates used all their advantages to protect him

S37:E08 You Get What You Give

John was one of the core Goliath people (with Kara, Dan, Angelina) who hadn't given any indication about flipping, and were the most overtly "Goliath strong." Since there was some real 3D chess here with the idols, the group probably suspected Dan would play his idol on either Angelina (since she was the obvious target) or maybe Kara, his island GF. It's the old strategy of targeting the person in the alliance who isn't the most obvious threat at the moment, a la Edgardo in Fiji.

S37:E08 You Get What You Give

This episode was severely lacking any scenes with Alison, who was the other Goliath in the Strikeforce. She was apparently cool with just sticking with the majority and blowing up the sub-alliance? We couldn't have seen her and Alec discussing their options?
