Right now Diane Gilman is talking about how great her blazer fits. And SHE is in one that's too small. She has it buttoned, and it's pulling across the front! And it's NOT flattering. On whatever channel I'm watching and whatever apparel is being sold, it's one thing if they say the outfit is great, but it's ugly....because that's just in the eye of the beholder. But for hosts and OAPs to say something that I -- as the viewer can see right then -- as they're speaking -- is just not true.....that I can't ignore. All it would have taken to avoid this -- as we see so many times on home shopping channels is -- just wear a larger size!! WHY is that so verboten? Diane looks horrible in that jacket...in that size. It's. just. bad. ETA: OMG. Did anyone else see the Diane Gilman T-Shirt with the big stemmed flower design on it?...and the bottom of the stem was positioned, so it literally looked like it was coming up out of the models crotch?. Oh my goodness.

I can't wait to hear the sale pitch on these. I'd better NOT hear the words: classic, must-have, or basic. I'd think they need to be honest and say these have a touch of..........drumroll, please, "whimsy!" Or how about OWNING that it's OK to be "kitchy" sometimes. And own being unique and having your own styles preferences and not caring what others think. OWN being different. Because these earrings are different, all right.
  3. I'd bet that a fair number (percentage) of QVC viewers are sick-and shut-in, or have mobility and transport issues.

I could see buying that top...if it were at a Marshall's price...say 16.99 or less. To me, it's al little reminicent of a classic Coco Channel look. A polished, business professional classic design. Add black pants and deconstructed cardigan-like jacket.....and I can make a presentation to a group, go to a meeting, speak at a news conference, welcome VIPS and other visitors. It would be great business attire for me.

I've purchased plants from QVC. I saw things I hadn't seen at big box stores in my area. And while I do like gardening and landscaping, and I will go to a big local nursery once a season, I may or may not see everything they have. So for me, Roberta's and Cottage Farms have definitely introduced me to plants I had not seen. My problem is the plant packages are too big. I don't need 8, 6, or even four -- of anything. I think some packages were up to 10 in number! Too many for me. So I "window" shop on QVC and ask for something I like at the local nursery, where I can get one or two.

I don't remember whether it was the Halo, or some other brand of "charger," but I read a review elsewhere years ago that said they can't be used on EVERY vehicle....and that hosts are negligent and absolutely misleading NOT to say it won't work with certain kins of cars. Maybe that's changed in the intervening years, but I know I'd be pissed if I bought it, and it didn't work with my car.
  7. If TV home shopping models don't want they're bodies exposed - then they need another job. We have no idea whether it bothers them. I'd imagine they know it goes with the territory. Unlike some viewers who might take offense to it. Which is of course their right.

^^ Makes you wonder what drugs people are on. (But we all have our thing, I guess.)
  9. All the shopping networks' call screening has sucked for decades. If you want to call whatever cursory interaction a caller might have with a call screener -- screening. If there was really call screening half the callers who get on wouldn't get anywhere near being on air. IMO, for all their millions, for all their billions, these shopping networks are very bare bones operations. Other than hosts, I don't think they pay well at all. And I'm not convinced the hosts make the BIG money people continually speculate about. I stopped having any expectations when I found out years ago that QVC doesn't have true camera people. (OK literally are there SOME camera people? sure. But most camera work is remote. How do expect to have any kind of on air quality with remote cameras? Going behind the scenes at QVC is like seeing "the man behind the curtain." Personally I don't think there's any there, there. All kinds of bling and "impressive metrics," but no real quality of operation.

In no particular order I think the "dressier" brands on the Q are supposed to be: Bob Mackie, Linea, Basso. And I LOVED George Simonton's line. He was just so bad on air though. And even though the viewership is old...being an "old" vendor to QVC is like putting a bull's eye on your back. I didn't give a crap how shy or old he was, his clothes looked so polished I loved everything he did. HE could design clothes. The George Simonton line and Louis Dell'Olio were THE go to lines for fine dressing. I don't know what Bob Mackie's quality is like anymore. But I never liked his stuff. Too gaudy for me. I suppose......depnding on what kind of affair a person is attending you could put H by Halston or Attitudes by Renee into the dressy category depending on the item. Maybe?? But if you mean dressy like YEEEEARS ago when Randolph Duke and Bagley Mishka were on -- uh, nothing like that now. I did LOVE the dressy Joan Rivers skirt with pockets.
  11. Not that the two things are mutually exclusive because they're not....but, Dan Wheeler just said "the food category" was always his favorite kind of show. Uh, WTH -- he hardly ever did a food show....that I remember anyway.
  12. How the hell does Mary "the Warbler" Nelson get an A.M. fashion show? She should never have been hired with that voice. How the heck is that a voice for any kind of TV work, broadcast OR cable? Yeah, I know Barbara Walters had a speech impediment. Warbler is no Barbara Walters. Besides I never thought Barbara was all that anyway. She was strictly right place, right time and who you know.

I see QVC is back to NOT listening....and showing the non-kitchen/food TSV during ITKWD. Oy vey.

Someone has clearly taken the strategy of "we're your friends just sitting around having fun, while we tell you (not sell mind you, but "give you the inside scoop") about these great products"...to an extreme. QVC's camera work has AWLAYS sucked. A host would hold a product and wait for the camera shot to come...and wait.....and wait, and wait. Some times I could tell they just gave up and moved on. The camera reaction time is horrible. I don't know who the directors are. But their on-air results are horrid. Please just let hosts and OAPS go back to a table and chair.
