  1. So many things - so very difficult to understand. Whatever this thing may be - a cult, a scam, a business, a corporation, a church, a religion, an evil empire, a suicidal trap, a path to impoverishment and misery. So many possible definitions - all of which I have seen supported by fervent believers. It becomes very difficult to claim that any of these labels are wrong. However, the one label that seems to persist beyond most other is "evil". An "evil organization that harms large numbers of people and has little or no compassion for anyone who wants out of this madness. I am truly sorry that I ever had anything to do with these monsters and I believe they now all do belong in prison. Not only for mental abuse of their members but for their physical abuse in causing them to hand over most all their money and to go into terrible crushing debt that they can never hope to repay in order to pre-pay for the most ridiculous "courses" that are fundamentally worthless and even dangerous and harmful. This is one organization to which people should "Just say No", turn around, and flee. Flee like a fart into the wind. There is no good that can come from any association with these Brain Washing Bandits - except for the people who wind up with all of your life savings in their hands. Everyone else associated with this dreadful monstrosity comes out losing most everything they ever had and valued. Be warned! This cult is a certain road to ruination. Stay away! Stay away! Stay away!
  2. I believe it is true that "Few are chosen" because very few have the hundreds of thousands of dollars these bandits want to suck out of all their victims. It simply is not worth the time or trouble to them to deal with people who don't have the minimum amount of money to satisfy the insatiable greed lust these people have. I just watched a recent epsisode of Australia 60 Minutes where the police busted a large scam operating in The Phillipines and targeting Australian retirees. Retirees are a good target for these people because many are elderly and lack the fortitude to resist these criminals. Any time someone calls you and you get the feeling they are trying to take your money, do yourself a favor and hang up the phone and report the call to your local police. The other thing that makes retirees attractive to these monsters is that many have enough money in the bank so that they can transfer a large sum of money almost immediately. It is just not worth their time to talk to people unless they have a reasonable expectation the victims will be able to send them a very large chunk of money - often within the hour. The criminal law system that assigns penalties to criminals has been out of date for a very long time. Someone who attempts to murder an innocent victim may wind up in prison for about 10 years. But the only penalties the modern Criminal Justice System hands out is a scale that includes a number of years in prison. So, someone who destroys an innocent person's life by stealing all their retirement money had done something to them that is almost as bad as attempted murder. But they only get a handful of years in prison because it is a non-violent crime. It is long past time these penalties were reviewed. I feel strongly that different kinds of penalties of different severities are deserved by these scum bags who ruin peoples lives. After all, a great many of them only get tiny penalties if they even get apprehended in the first place. I would guess that only a very small percentage ever get caught. To avoid getting punished, so many of them can just pick and choose the country in which they live and the country in which their victims live. The penalties depending on those two decisions can make a huge difference in the size of the penalty. I shudder to think of how many can escape punishment completely with a sizeable bribe to the police or others in the country in which they commit the crime. It's just absurd.

    S03.E11: Church and State

You want to know what cult she was involved in? You just Google her name followed by the word "cult". I don't think it's appropriate to post the name of that cult here because it wasn't revealed on the show so she must have objected to having it made known and I think we should respect her wishes. Attorney? I thought he was a Professor of Law. I found him very disappointing as well.

    S03.E11: Church and State

Cults with millions to billions of followers? Gosh! I never even imagined there were such things. So I Googled "rank largest cults" and found some fascinating reading. I had never even heard of the one cult at the top of their list. http://listverse.com/2007/09/15/top-10-cults/ Scamology is Number Six on the list.
  5. I thought your comments were very insightful. Well done!
  6. Sounds like a real paradise right here on earth. I have visted LV a few times and never been disappointed. It was always fun, fun, fun. I would love to live there.
  7. I suppose that most anyone who found themselves surrounded by adoring admirers who were willing to do anything - absolutely anything - their hearts desired would have a hard time turning away from that kind of experience. I would guess some auditor would ask them a few questions and get them to reveal many of their hearts' most secret desires - perhaps sexual desires. Then, they would arrange for the exact kind of person the actor desires to perform all the things they desired. Very difficult to turn that down - especially if it's all free. Don't you think? Have you ever read about all the so-called "perks" and other things they've provided Tom Cruise and John Travolta? Just amazing stuff is all given to celebs for free in return for them "plugging" this scam. Very difficult to turn down such treatment. The truly amazing thing IMO, is how people ever find the courage to admit they were duped and now feel like a fool for going along with this Brain Washing Bullshit and now wish to apologize to all those people who were enslaved into this scam as a result of their recommendations. Seems to me that takes a whole lot more courage than there is courage - meaning, it must be almost impossible for anyone to stand up and admit they were fooled and did great harm to many people and now they are sorry and wish to make things right. That takes unbelievable courage. The people who have done this - like Leah Remini and Mike Rinder are truly great people for having that courage. I believe that one day after Scamatology is long gone and forgotten, the courage of Remini and Rinder will live on in the hearts and minds of Humankind. So much of this is exposed in a few films - like "Going Clear - Scientology and the Prison of Belief" https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4257858 If you have never seen this film, it's a wonderful place to start in order to understand the duplicity of this monstrosity and it's also a wonderful, enjoyable film I sincerely hope you may find the time to see it. If you do, I'd love to hear your opinions about it. If you don't feel like posting your opinions in public, would you please consider sending me a Private Message?
  8. The founder of this cult long ago realized that one of the best ways to attract new victims was to treat celebrities like living Gods and encourage them to come out in public and talk about how great it is to join.
  9. My guess is that after two people get involved in a dirty messy situation as a result of TS (The Scam), they may both take some time to think about it and realize it was not really the other person's fault. They were both duped (although in different ways and to different degrees) by This Scam and the rational thing to do would be to direct their anger to TS (The Scam) and not to each other. I've heard of several cases where people became good friends after they suffered at each others' hands because they realized the fault was not the other persons but was caused by TS. If and when they realize they both have a lot in common which is why why they were both duped in the first place, then they can join forces and start to work together to defeat this evil. I have enormous respect for Mike. He would never have risen to the heights he did had he not been extremely competent and capable.
  10. There are hundreds - if not thousands - of senior citizens who are members of their stupidly named "Sea Org". Most of these people were born into this thing and have no education, no money, no place to live, no jobs, no job skills, no training, no Medical Insurance, no Pension and on and on. As they age, they become a huge liability to Scamatology. What will TS (The Scam) do with them when they inevitably need medical intervention? I envision a return of Nazi style Death Camps. You laugh? You think it's funny? Do you expect Scamatology to spend any of their precious billions caring for these people who have reached end of life? No way. In the eyes of The Scam, they are now liabilities and as such worthless. I'm guessing the opinion of The Scam is they should be just tossed onto some garbage heap because - after all - they will be reborn into new bodies and rejoin The Scam and so the faster they die, the better. There is a monumental disaster looming as thousands of Seniors will die in the most miserable and lurid conditions ever seen on this planet. Just wait and see.
  11. I don't disagree with much of what you have said. I'd just like to add that Mike Rinder has to be an extremely courageous soul to stand up and speak out against this monstrous evil. He knows - better than most everyone - the consequences of speaking up against them. It takes courage beyond the definition of "courage" for him to do this. I think he is a great man. I also think we all should speak up against them. The more people who do become their "Enemies" (at least in their eyes), the more resources they must expend to try and fight us. Ultimately, this is a fight they make more difficult for themselves every time they do one of these unspeakably evil things. BTW, instead of "Enemy of Scamatology", I think he should be considered a "Friend to Humanity".
  12. Many of the former slaves who escaped have created a foundation called "The Aftermath Foundation". It's the single best idea I've yet seen for helping to dismantle this terrible curse and scam. It exists to act as a kind of clearing house to connect people who have recently escaped The Scam and need help together with people who can help them. As you may well know, many of the slaves who have lived their entire lives in TS ("The Scam") (TS is my favourite name for these cockroaches), have no real education except for Scamatology education. They have no money, no job, no job skills, no job experience, no place to live, etc., etc., etc. They desperately need help like no one else needs help. So good-hearted people who are willing to give them jobs or a place to live or training in job skills can volunteer by contacting this foundation. http://theaftermathfoundation.org/ You can contribute money (always a good way to help) or any of the other things. You tell them the city in which you live and they connect you with people who need help in your city. Contributing and volunteering to this foundation seems like the very best way to get involved in this struggle and help. This might be the "extra step" to which your referred. BTW, Mike Rinder is one of the Board members of this foundation and one of the founders.
  13. I'm no tax expert. But I believe it has to do with maintaining their absurd tax exempt status. If they didn't spend that money and they had millions in bank accounts, I have read they would lose their T.E. Status. That status is worth billions to them.
  14. I really don't know. But I suspect the fact they are recognized as a Church and a Religion (how patently stupid that is) may give them some greater protection against libel suits than ordinary people or companies. Rotten F'n Cockroaches! My guess is that they use it somehow to trick people into leaving Christianity and coming in for a "Personality Test" - the first step to a live of slavery and poverty.
  15. Wow! This show just keeps on getting better. Each episode seems more powerful than the previous. It seems that so many people would like to see the end of This Scam (TS) and would like to help if they only knew how. The sad truth is that many of us just don't know how or are unsure how to go about it. Mike Rinder has said that one good way to help is for people to contact their elected federal govt officials and he has started to outline exactly how we can do that. If you check his blog site (by searching for "mike rinder blog") you will see he posts a new entry every day and one recent episode (I believe it was 2 or 3 days ago) contains all the info and makes it easer than ever before for anyone to contact their govt reps and make their feelings known. I have suggested that a few ordinary people (like me) could contribute a small amount of money to commission a public opinion poll from a trusted polling corp (like Gallup). The poll could ask all Americans just 2 or 3 simple questions: 1) Do you believe that Scientology is really a church or a religion? 2) Do you believe they deserve their tax exempt status. 3) I'm quite certain there are at least 3 questions but I can't remember any more just now. Now public awareness has been brought to new heights thanks to Leah and Mike and their Aftermath TV program, I would expect that many people are familiar with TS (The Scam) and could provide honest answers to those questions. Once people could truthfully say, "According to a recent Gallup Poll, x% of Americans do not believe this is a religion and y% of Americans do not believe they deserve any tax exempt status. Every time people speak about TS, they could start by reading that sentence. I believe it would take a great deal of wind out of their sales to have that statement heard over and over again. Each time would be like pounding another nail into the coffin of The Scam. There is another project I have in mind that could also hasten the demise of this scam. I will post about that later. The important thing is not what I want to see happen. The important thing is what you all want to see happen. After all, remember that guy who said something about "government of the people, by the people and for the people". Was he wrong about that? P.S. Here is that entry in Mike Rinder's blog referred to above: https://www.mikerindersblog.org/what-can-you-do-to-help-end-scientology-abuses/
  16. Is it possible The Scam (my name for this cult - aka TS) knows that any publicity just shines more light on their activities and results in more publicity and more harm and brings them closer to their destruction? Would that explain why they seem to have stopped taking legal action? Could it be they just don't want their name in the news? Under any and all circumstances? By the way, is it possible that one cannot be prosecuted for "slander" if all one does is ask questioins? Did that bring a smile to your face? Don't you think that might have been my intention?
  17. Yes. I could see that too. But given their history, I would guess that someone would inevitably ask, `Why dig a grave? Wouldn`t that take us a long time? Why not just leave them for the forest animals? After all, they need to eat don`t they?
  18. The fact that this guy is running this scam in the USA would normally give hope that the USA law enforcement agencies would have a lot more on the ball than those in 3rd world countries who only seem to do things when bribed. But it has been so discouraging because it just seems almost impossible to get the USA agencies to stand up and do something. They just keep listing all these excuses why their hands are tied. It's unbelievable.
  19. I know there is not a whole lot of participation in this particular thread. But that may be a good opportunity for me to show you something I'm working on and ask for your opinions. I hope to get the following "open letter" published on one of the more active Anti-Scientology blogs. It is quite long. But you should know very quickly after beginning to read it whether you want to read more or not. In any case, I will put it into a spoiler box so that no one here will have to look at this long "suggestion" if they don't want to. I'd like to ask you about any changes you would make before I submit it for publishing. I know the odds of it getting published are very small. Nonetheless, I'm concerned about several other things - including any potential "blow-back" from this organization. I hope that will be very unlikely, but I would dread having these people show up at my door and try to film me or go through my garbage to find out things about me they can then publish to try and expose me as some kind of pervert or freak - especially if they will lie about that. Any suggestions you might make for ways I can change this document to either make it better or reduce the odds of any "blow-back" would certainly be appreciated. Here it is and I thank you for taking the time to read it:
  20. It seems the only things that ever get clear are all your savings, all your bank accounts, all your retirement savings plans, all your childrens' college funds, etc. etc. etc.

    Surviving R. Kelly

I found this show to be most interesting because I have been following the Scientology cult and the superb program made by Leah Remini and Mike Rinder. I have posted to Mike's excellent blog and I feel like I am a part of this struggle and that I am involved and invested in seeing both of these horror situations smashed forever. I have a lot to say about both situations. But unfortunately (or perhaps it is fortunately), I recognize that I really don't know what I'm talking about. For example, I have a suggestion as to what our society should do to R. Kelly but it would enrage most everyone here if I explained what it was. It is not some kind of torture or execution but it is certainly not permitting this abuse to continue either. The thing that is absolutely astonishing is all the people who have decided that R. Kelly cannot possibly be guilty because his music is so angelic. He sings like an Angel. Therefore he could never have possibly committed these crimes. I think it is absolutely essential that we find a way to understand this mindset. Without any understanding, I can't imagine how it could be possible to come to any kind of satisfactory resolution. How can anyone have any faith in our justice system when jurors make their decisions based on how well someone sings? It's enough to make me believe that human brains are thoroughly defective and all humans deserve to die in a fire. I'm sorry. I really don't mean that. But I find the entire situation to be absolutely nuts! Most all these cults make me weep for the human condition. If I was a powerful inter-planetary race who was far advanced above and beyond humans, I don't think I would have any hesitation to just take a huge fly swatter and in one fell swoop, I would simply destroy this planet and all the crazy creatures who inhabit it. Seems eminently obvious that none of them deserve to live for more than just one more split-second. If you believe there could exist other life forms on other planets (and I do believe it's possible in the spirit that most anything is possible), I would worry for the continued existence of these crazy human creatures. It seems beyond any debating that - as a species - they just suck to the point where they do not deserve to live. By the way - I searched the older brother because I wanted to know why he was in prison. All the info I found was very general and vague. Most of it talked about burglary. That is not very important. But I did find it somewhat intriguing.
  22. The most terrifying thing about this episode to me is the following: They explained that as Sea Org members age, they inevitably become too sick or too weak to work for the cult. At that point they are of no value to the money-grubbing cult but TS (The Scam) can't afford to let them leave for fear they will tell the truth. They spend most of their lives in TS so they have no money, no insurance, no pensions, no education, no nothing. Do you see where this is going? There is a huge disaster waiting to happen. They have never gotten any medical care and will certainly never get any in the future. Talk about elder abuse? These people will end their lives living in filth and suffering from neglect. No one will care for them. They will die in the worst possible conditions. Have you ever seen that famous B&W documentary titled, "Memory of the Camps"? A British camera crew entered some Nazi death camps at the end of the war and showed tens of thousands of corpses that had been starved to death and died of disease and neglect. If you've never seen this film, I urge you to see it. It can be found in many places on the Net. There is a similar disaster coming to this place and if it ever becomes known - and I can't imagine how it couldn't be discovered - I would hope that would be enough for the authorities to act. The other reason why the authorities may never have really acted is one I've not seen anyone discuss. It is bribery and corruption. What are the odds they pay off people in The FBI? I can't imagine any FBI member taking bribes. But stranger things have happened. There are also two other important factors that make it difficult for authorities to enter the compound with search warrants. First, they pretend to be a Church. That is patently ridiculous, of course. But they have managed to be recognized as a Church and that gives them all kinds of protections under the Amendment that deals with religous freedom. Churches are allowed to beat their members as part of their services providing the members consent. Second, they brainwash their victims and they then live in fear that if they ever speak out, they will never be able to see their families again. This is an unbelievably powerful inducement for them to lie and tell the police, "I am here of my own free will. Everything is fine. No one gets hit here. Everyone is happy here. Everyone wants to be here. This place is like paradise on earth. Of course it's all the biggest load of bullshit since people have stood up in court and denied the Nazi Holocaust against the Jews.

    S04.E13: Christmas

Sorry. I originally made this post in the general discussion for the season. I didn't see there was a separate thread for the Xmas episode. In that thread, @Cleo posted: So I like this show but I have a bunch of unpopular opinions. Or two. I really dislike stevie. It is just too much sarcasm and no other expression. It's tedious and irritating. And this is coming from someone that is very sarcastic, but I am open and straightforward when needed. I known that sarcasm is not always the best response/approach. And the new guy with David just seems boring. He is like the actual bland guy they tried to make the vet out to be. The townspeople are the best. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I then replied with the following: I think the problem with Stevie lies in the writing. I think they just don't know how to write her. The actress has appeared in other shows and she seems like a completely different character there. But you are definitely correct about there being a problem with her character. She is kind of like a dead fish that someone drops onto your dinner table. She just lies there with dead eyes. I'm talking about the character and not the actor. I thought Season 4 was the best ever for many reasons. I really enjoyed it. But I was very disappointed in the Christmas Special. For a few years now, I've been growing to appreciate the physical beauty of the actress who plays the daughter - Annie Murphy. I saw a picture that looked like a publicity still for the Xmas Special and Annie Murphy appeared in it and looked like one of the most beautiful women I had ever seen. She displayed these long, long legs that left me open mouthed and drooling. But there was none of that in the Xmas Special. The story was weak - close to non-existant. The entire thing seemed to be like a lead balloon. It just crashed to earth. As a single episode, it may have been the most boring of all the episodes ever produced for this show. I was so very disappointed in the Xmas Special. IMHO, it stank like last week's garbage.

    Season 3 Discussion

Sorry. I originally made a post about the Xmas Episode to this thread before I saw there was a separate thread for the Xmas Episode. So, I deleted my original post and re-posted it to the Xmas Episode thread. But while I'm here, I'd like to say a few things about the Roland character: I really enjoy this entire show. I especially enjoy some of the funny themes they explore that are not typically explored by other shows. But the Roland character really bothers me. My first problem is that I can never seem to forget that is Chris Elliot. He has been in several other shows and some of them were just so terrible and his characters have been such incredible idiots that I just can't seem to forget that. Also, his acting is not strong enough to make me forget about all his past catastrophes. I get the feeling - which is just a guess - that Eugene Levy may feel beholden to him for some reason and arranged for him to have this work because he may feel he owes him something for some reason. There are a huge number of other actors who are much closer to home (in Canada) who could have played this part much better than did Chris Elliot. In fact, it is my opinion that almost anyone - right off the street - could have done a better job with this character than did Chris Elliot. The chemistry between Roland and his on-screen wife is entirely absent - less than zero, if that is possible. I can only fault the writing so far. The fact that this character behaves like a cross between someone who is totally stupid and someone else who is totally insane seems to me to mean that two people control the writing - one of whom likes him and the other one who hates him. Interestingly enough, it seems pretty clear the entire show - in particular the writing - are indeed controlled by two people - Eugene Levy and his son Dan. I think both these men are extremely talented. But when it comes to the writing of Roland Schitt, I think they have not only dropped the ball, I think they lost it and cannot seem to find it again. Bleh! They would have such a better show if they got a different actor to play Roland the imbecille.
