    S16. E14. Once Upon a Tim

After last week's episode I was ready to give up on NCIS, but I'm glad I didn't. This liked this episode including learning more about Tim as teenager and being reminded how much of a jerk his father could be. Delilah needs to be on more often. I did have to laugh at her finding out about the prior dead bodies in their apartment. Agree with everyone else about the casting of young Tim. The casting director did a fantastic job on that one.

    Small Talk: The Prayer Closet

I hate summer with a passion, and I've always lived in the southeast (TN and now the Atlanta area). I think part of it is that because of a health issue my heart has always beat faster than most people. Add to that now I'm peri-menopausal, summer is the worst time of the year for me and it lasts from mid-March until early November. I love the few days a year that I don't need a/c or heat.

I was hoping she would at least pull a Jinger and Jeremy and wait a little while, but I guess that's wishful thinking.

I thought I remembered last week that the NYC dressmaker said she had left 1/2" seam around the arms, not sure about anywhere else in the dress, but I would think she would. I think this was drama manufactured so they could go visit Renee. I wish we could see more of Katie and had to laugh at the "potato" dress. I am glad she called Kelly Jo out on the dress from China. Trying to go cheap (I was going to say inexpensive, but I think cheap is a better word) is not always the way to go. The other girls dresses were nice, so what happened to Katies? One thing I notice with all the kids is that they do seem to love each other and get along, not just for the cameras. Isaiah celebrating his actual birthday with Katie. Nathan and Gil helping Jackson with the truck.

Jill & Derick Dullard: Counting On (Donations)

I don't even know if Derick and Jill love each other. I feel like they realize they are "stuck" with each other because they had to hurry up and get married in order to get to spend time together alone and now there's no way out. Didn't they have the covenant marriage? You know all of this has to affect Izzy and Sam. As far as the like/love comment. After I grew up my mom made a comment about my teenage years. She said, "I always loved you, but there were lots of times I didn't like you."

I don't understand people who do that unless there is a really good reason for canceling (family emergency, etc.). I am a major introvert and my favorite place to be is at home, but if I make plans to go out with friends, that gives me the motivation to leave my couch. Count me in the other others: go out for dinner, a movie, just get out and do something.

I've never been to Maine, but if I have the chance to go you better bet I will be having some lobster. But seeing how Carlin was acting in the restaurant with the lobster drove me crazy. Usually whenever I go to a new location, I'm going to try the food. I would rather try it and find out I don't like it than to think later "I should have tried it." Kelly and Gil: I'm glad they let Evan and Carlin go on a bike ride, but I had to roll my eyes at the way they kept wondering where they were at. I'm guessing the cameraman and sound man were with them so it's not like if anything happened no one would know about it.
  8. That's the August wedding. This is the wedding where Kayla was arrested by Abe for Marina's murder while both Kayla and MB were pregnant

Derick does NOT look pleased to have his picture taken. I wonder if last semester his grades weren't so great and now he knows he is going to actually have to buckle down and study this time around. My first thought with Sam in the high chair was that someone yelled at him and he's trying to hide (like my dog used to when she would hide under the bed during thunderstorms, but you would still see her butt sticking out).

I don't care if the Bates are always running late, it's still RUDE. The cheating was not cute and funny. I know it's all for TV, but if I were invited to a shower like that, I would not attend because it didn't look like fun for the non-Bates guests. Josie, you had a beautiful dress, but mom thought it looked like you were nude and in order to keep her happy, you made the dress more ordinary. I missed seeing all the lace that was so gorgeous in the original dress. I didn't even watch Carlin, but did see Evan learning how to dance. Poor guy, he seems like he tries, but he's going to end up with Carlin. I think he deserves someone better.
  11. I read an article by some Christian writer (I don't remember who it was) a few years ago and they were talking about the difference in Marrying to Date or Dating to Marry. Most of us are more likely to date to marry; you get the know the person before marriage. Have birthdays, go through all the seasons of the year (no, I'm not adding "of life" to that sentence). When you Marry to Date, you just want to hurry up and married, have sex, spend time alone, whatever, but then you don't know what kind of person you married because you didn't spend a birthday, or go to a funeral, or a trip with them. These families push getting married so much, I always wonder how much do the brides and grooms know about themselves, much less the person they marry.

Sometimes when I watch these I just yell, "what kind of IDIOT are you?" and this was one of those times. He's a sex offender, he threatens her father, he lets a friend RAPE her, but she doesn't leave. I understand the fact that women feel like they can't leave, so I try not to judge, but from the first moment when she finds out he raped his six-month-old niece and she has four daughters, she should have gotten out of there. I'm glad that her ex-husband was able to get custody of the three older girls. I wonder what the father of her youngest daughter thought after all of this came out. I did an online search and she had a son with Anthony. When she son was six-months-old (I think) her NEW boyfriend killed the baby and this is what drove Anthony on his rampage (according to Anthony). Sometimes I look at women and think "being single is not the worst thing in the world." She is one of those women I think.

I need to go to the grocery store and I dread it. I remember a few years ago I needed bread, milk, and TP; they were on my list before the snow forecast. I felt so embarrassed when I went to the grocery store because I felt like one of "those" people.
