Josiah and Lauren: He Has To Marry Somebody

I like Laurens dress. It's simple and looks better than the usual Duggar bride concoctions. From what I can see of the bridesmaid dress, I like it. Major kudos to Jana and Anna for sewing what looks to be a complicated dress. I'll be interested to see the whole thing. I'm hoping we are all wrong on Josiah being sad, but sadly, I don't think this is the life he really wants.

    Cults And Extreme Beliefs

This series has been very interesting to me. It's amazing how many parents just send their kids off.

I commented about that on the Instagram post. Of course, a leg humper immediately came to his defense.

    Series Anticipation: Prisoner of Love

I am so ridiculously excited for this series! A friend of the family is up for parole in 2019. He just got on a dating site to try to meet someone to be friends with on the outside. I just was there to visit last week and was teasing him that I should try to get him on the show. Trashy TV for the win!

Derek posted a pic on Instagram of him and Jill enjoying some ribs a person dropped off for their lunch today. Jill is holding Samuel, but Iz is nowhere to be found. Sorry I can't link it now. It was a couple hours ago.

Yes, Central America is dangerous- just like anywhere else if you don't pay attention to your surroundings, flash money, etc. Yes, kidnapping does happen, but mainly to people who have families who have access to money or other valuables. No sense in kidnapping someone when there is nobody to pay a ransom. Armed guards are EVERYWHERE down there, from stores to street corners. That part is not unsual. Many countries, especially El Salvador and Guatemala (where they seem to spend most of their time) are only a couple decades past brutal civil wars and the income inequality is massive. Many are armed simply as a result of having to live in a state of war for 30 plus years. I am heading back down to Guatemala in a couple weeks. I do not live in a gated community, but there is a Policia National presence around my area. I'll pass a few here and there on my way to Mc Donalds and to the bus stop. I really don't think too much of it. I know I have posted on here before how much I hate how Jill and Derjerk carry on about the danger. Show some beauty- El Salvador is gorgeous!!

    S05.E06: Joy Gets Engaged

As a US citizen who resides in Guatemala for around 6 months a year (not as a missionary), I just weekend in El Salavador to "reset" my 90 days. That seems to be what most people do. No need to pay for a flight back to the US. As far as D's hair/manbun, you don't see a lot of man buns or long hair in Guate, mostly on tourists. I could see SOS asking him to cut it. Jill and her ring... I wear simple jewelry, but I know it is suggested that tourists be careful of being too flashy, which I think is just common sense anywhere. Luckily, I have never been robbed, but a friend of mine always seems to be. She keeps some cash in her pocket, throws it, and the robber goes after that instead of her purse. The perp wants to get away fast, so while I'm sure it has happend, I don't think people having their fingers cut off is all that prevalent. They annoy me with their "it's so dangerous" schtick. Of course most countries in CA are dangerous- they are developing countries that are still recovering from civil wars. But dang Dillard's, shut up already!

Just popping on to say I was just banned from the Lillie and Ellie Facebook page because I disclosed that that Dillard's had sent time in Guatemala. This person and I went back and forth for a few hours. He kept claiming that I put them in danger and how people get MURDERED there EVERY DAY!! Then I got blocked. I laughed. If any of you are Lisa Marie and was participating in that thread as a fellow Duggar skeptic, you are awesome. I just get so tired of the depiction of Central America as a bunch of poor, godless, savages. Don't mess with my second home. Lol. Anyway, I feel sort of proud. Have fun in the USA Dillards. Central America won't miss you.

Not defending Jill and Derjerk, or TLC in the least, but when items are shipped to organizations in El Salvador, Guatemala (where I live part of the year not as a missionary), the organization has to pay a tax to pick up the items, if they arrive at all. Let's just say their customs departments "lose" items that may be considered desired or hard to come by. So, it may defeat the purpose of the donation all together. Many groups I know of have had it happen. BUT- Miss Vixen, as a former teacher, I love your donation and the big box store's willingness to assist you in making it happen! I bet you made they day for the teachers who received your generosity.

S08.E14: Episode 14 (Getaway House, Chirps, Vibes, PopUp Play)

Yes! There are cricket farms, believe it or not. My dad owned a pet store for many years and he ordered crickets of all sizes from a cricket farm in Louisiana. People would buy them to feed to their lizards. I remember seeing their displays at industry trade shows.

    S01.E05: The Game Plan

I've been searching for the end dialogue where Kevin is talking to the girls, but I can't find it :(. I loved it and was bawling like a baby.

The hash tag said #pollocampero. It's the Central American equivalent of KFC. It's delicious.

    S02.E05: Ben Drops Beats

As someone who lives 80% of the time in Guatemala (Central America, yall- lol), I laughed so hard at Jill's need for supplies. There are plenty of Walmarts and other places they can access cayenne, sleepers, etc from there, and if they are in El Salvador, there too! Ugh, they make me mad!
