I hate when places expect you to know their specific unique way of ordering! I had this issue at Taco Bell years ago--I wanted a burrito with beans instead of meat (I think? I feel like that's already a menu item. Maybe it wasn't then, or I am thinking of something else. Anyway...) and apparently that was not how I was "supposed" to say it and they acted like I was speaking a made-up language. And don't get me started on the ice cream place I went to once that had only sizes medium and large--how is there a "medium" at all if there are only two options to begin with?!

No no-kill shelter I have ever worked for would do this (correction: no by-the-book no-kill shelter; I cannot account for shady operations). An animal comes in and that animal lives, and is cared for, there* until it is adopted or it dies (naturally or due to illness-related euthanasia, in case that needs to be spelled out). There are not hidden semantics, loopholes, technicalities, or seedy dark sides to honest no-kill animal shelters (and like we have the time or money to cart animals around just to have them destroyed. What even would be the point?). * If it gets too full at the shelter or if there is an animal who needs extra care for whatever reason, someone from the shelter will bring that animal home for the interim.

We don't know that she didn't try to explain. She has said ~967 times on this show alone that it is "inspired by" her life, so why assume that she never tried to give her sisters that same detail? maybe they don't understand what that means--or maybe the embarrassing gossip about their family is true and so they freak out at the mere hint of anything autobiographical?

Maybe no motive for murder, but motive to say what the cops wanted him to.

    I think he's innocent too.

Agree--and I should add that I don't think @Giselle made bad points--not at all! My annoyance is at the ranks-closer sisters for making such a to-do about it. And while I do not know what the real truth is about Big Kathy, I am not above wondering if Kyle isn't maybe overcompensating for some gnarly stuff in her childhood by extra-romanticizing her mom. Just sucks that K & K couldn't/wouldn't see that there was nothing to make a fuss about.

Exactly--I remember my day after I learned of the Towers falling; I can't tell you what time I left my apartment that morning for work, which was before it happened, but I can remember, almost two decades later, that after we heard that news, we were dismissed early and that I got home from work at about 2 in the afternoon and that I was not wearing a jacket because it was warm, clear, and sunny out (and that stopped at a red light at the top of a hill, I could see the smoke).

I'm just saying that I think they're being idiots and actively looking for shit to be pissed at Kyle about. It's one thing to say/agree "under no circumstances do we do this," but another to just assume that is what's being done when it's not. Then again, Kathy and Kim seem to me to be unhappier people than Kyle is, so it doesn't really surprise me that they would be (deliberately?) obtuse about her show's topics. Whatever--I still want the clothes from it!

Oh, I don't care--I have no dog in this fight, but I did see the whole series; it wasn't great but, as far as sitcoms go, there are far, far worse, IMO. I watched it only for the '70s clothing and decor (I wish it was my job to curate the wardrobe for something like that, man!) Regardless, there was nothing in it for her sisters to give a shit about or close ranks over, nothing that specifically insinuated Kim or Kathy or even Kyle, and nothing that I recall that would be considered "speak[ing] bad of a family member."

They had no school for the next few days due to an ice storm and the weekend. And she also had a new boyfriend, which may have made her friends assume she was hanging out with him. With power outages throughout the city, phones were down, and there were very few cell phones among teenagers back then (much less FB, Twitter, etc.), so constant contact wasn't the norm like it is now so her friends likely had no reason to worry. It's not farfetched, per various experts, for a day to become a memorable only after something memorable happens.

The show was not unflattering at all, especially if you consider the actual (or "actual") source material. It was sitcommy and far from dramatic, poignant, or shady. Her sisters are idiots for worrying about it without seeing it first.

That's the thing though--January 13 day was not significant to him; it was a normal, standard, routine day with nothing singularly notable about it until later.

My job is reading and trying to make sense of things and I have no clue what those texts even mean.

Haha, I always catch Teresa/Melissa moments like this in RHoNJ, including a few during the super-feud season!
