I totally agree with what Sunny said. The advantages that these students had to get into an "elite" university include private school education, tutors, SAT tutors, extra-curricular activities that will look good on application (could also include skin color). AND still their parents had to "donate" to get them in? How "educationally challenged" are their children?? I really didn't like when MM tried to interject about legacies to "I will say.." that her brothers did well in school. Joy just glanced at her and said that she was just explaining how legacies came about - to keep out minorities (back then minorities were white but of Irish, German, Jewish background from what I gather). So legacies had a "leg up" despite bad grades/educational attitude.

    S07.E10: Climate Quick Change

When I saw the runway show I thought Christine had it in the bag! I thought it was really good and she has (IMO) showed good work. When they (the judges) said that Michelle was in the top - I thought, "WHAAATT???" Although to be honest I haven't exactly been amazed or blown away by anything (even Dimitri - who I really like 🙂 ). Some have looked nice or above average, some have consistently been terrible (Looking at you, Michelle and AR). But again nothing really stands out as amazing/fashionable/"new". ^And totally OT: I have been watching the old Bravo episodes and even the ones "offed" are better than this group.

So ..... hmmm.... Abby says that Ocasio-Cortez said that America is 10% from garbage and is offended by it because there was a WWII vet and it was/is offensive to what he did? And when Sunny said what the actual quote was - that it seems that minorities are supposed to be grateful for being treated 10% from garbage as compared to the past and the fight for civil rights really isn't over. Abby still insisted it wasn't right to say 10% from garbage - really? Based on her vast experiences with civil rights? And did she really say, "I will say.." ? I'm sorry that MM is not there .....No, I'm not.

That's what I thought that the challenge would be! But if not that, then there are other examples of gender neutral clothes/styles that they could have referenced beyond a big coat.

I think I agree with this 🙂 But is she trying to be different from the rest of the panel (or so she thinks because I don't think I've heard any of the other ladies say anything that is anti-LGBT) OR from other Republican "political analysts"?

Wow! First on a shallow note - What is going on with MM's hair? The front braid color doesn't even match the rest of her dyed hair and that "style" doesn't do the rest of her head any favors. Although, her make-up looks nice. When they were speaking about the Kardashian kid who is 5 years old - How did that evolve into MM talking about the child being trans, bi, or gay? She said that she asks little kids if they have crush not a crush on boy/girl. What? Everyone just was talking about whether it was appropriate with the gifts, nicknames, arms around each other (like teens, IMO). I really enjoyed the segment with Congressman (?) Hurd. He was articulate, calm, and thoughtful in what he said. I also agree with what he said (but full disclosure - I think the "Wall" is not good fiscal idea). Especially when he said that border security should be a variety of tools not just one simple tool. I think that MM really thought he was going to jump onto her "bandwagon" and seemed to be surprised by his answer that included so many options. I thought Freddie Highmore was adorable 🙂

I think that a family/spouse does what they can when coping with a loved one having a Alzheimer's. I don't agree with what B.'s husband is doing, but I also know that it is difficult to see someone who you loved losing their true self and the history of "us". You love them, you care for them, and they have no idea who you are. It is heartbreaking. And sometimes you find solace in activities, friends, and maybe in a new partner. Not that you still don't love your spouse but you don't have the same relationship anymore. You miss it. So although I don't agree with what he is doing, I can't really criticize neither - he has gone through pain too - losing the person he loved - and should he not have love?

Oh my goodness!! So much this (bold is mine). I couldn't believe when she suggested a panel of three people on "my side" and three people on the "other side". What is there to discuss? The whole reason for Kapernick taking a knee was to bring attention to the inequities that occur in minority neighborhoods and when minorities are "outside" of where they are "normally" associated with. This all got blown out of proportion when the orange guy wrongly accused the players of kneeling against servicemen and the flag. In my opinion MM took this as the reason and nothing anyone (not even Kapernick) says can or will be able to convince her otherwise. To quote: Also something I noticed - During the discussion about asking a parent's permission for marrying the daughter, Sunny seemed to try to include MM in discussion. MM looked pissed off by Sunny asking her about how/what her father did/said. MM seemed so angry about it.

I like how you stated this!! It is true - maybe because minority voters are not seen as important??

Wow! MM really can't take a joke!! I'm originally from Arizona (that's in Middle America in case you didn't know - Ha!) and I thought what Colin Quinn said about Arizona was funny! In fact, I have a cousin who still lives there and he has made that joke before. ("Sun, sand, heat but not really a beach.") The weird part was that MM couldn't seem to let it go through the rest of the program. She kept harping on it and then added her cactus to her conniption fit!

I enjoyed Chris Cuomo on today's show :) I found him to be articulate and clear in what he was trying to say as well as having a conversation with each person. Contributing, clarifying, and acknowledging when things have gone "wrong". I thought that MM was looking for an opening to "get him", but sadly for her she didn't find one.

    "The View": Week of 1/7/19

This reminded me: I was taking a year's course on literacy. We had to learn a variety of strategies to use with our students. We were required to film ourselves as we learned and implemented each teaching strategy. We then had to watch each other's "film" and give critique - focusing on what went right and what could be improved. Most of the time, the person whose lesson was being watched found her areas of improvement and could quickly identify where the lesson went wrong. It helped because the criticism was coming from the person whose film was being watched and praise was coming from his/her cohort. That year was such a strong influence of my teaching style and use of language with my students. Maybe it would be helpful to MM - but then again we were there to learn how to be better and MM thinks that she is already the best. Today's show was surprisingly pleasant :) It showed that they could have a discussion without disrespect. Although MM did kind of veer into screeching mode during the Cohen segment, she did seem to quiet down. I really like Don Lemon :)

    "The View": Week of 1/7/19

Whoopi said something like, "When did the taxpayers become Mexico? The guy in the White House said that Mexico would pay for the wall." MM muttered, "You say that every day!" I think it should be said every day on the news when they talk about the wall (as well as "I will proudly own the shut down. I won't blame anyone else." before they talk about the shutdown.) And boy, was MM shriekier than usual?? It sounded like it to my ears. I even felt sorry for Abby! She was trying to interject, share a thought and MM just kept talking. Then MM said something like "As the only Republican..." I thought Abby was your "best" friend? Isn't she a Republican? On a shallow note: I don't think MM is a size 12 - just by the way she sits and her body settles, umm - no. I am not criticizing her weight (I'm not exactly close to thin.) but come on! She seems closer to a 16.
  14. That is what got me too!! It took me two months to think about renewing a subscription (about $50 for the year!) and how not having that money for the current month would affect my finances/budget. How can someone just agree to fork over $35,000 to a "church"? Then threaten to divorce your spouse unless you pay another $7500!! When someone asks for money upfront like that to "fix" you, isn't that a big red flag?? I've paid money upfront to the university when I was working on my degrees but at the end I got a degree and a raise! There was a clear achievable goal, an end in sight, a target that could be reached. In this organization there is no end!! ^^THIS!!! I can't understand it neither!! At my church so many things are given freely and with support!! Even classes or courses!! We give a minor donation to help with costs (ie. books, paper, pencils, refreshments). The most I've ever donated was about $20 for a specific course (it was about six weeks long) not $35,000!! Why is this never a big sign to people who get embroiled in this organization?? ETA: Sorry for all of the exclamation marks, I was just so flabbergasted by the whole episode!! (oops there's another one :)

    S01.E10: Crosswinds

What can I say?? Grace continues to irritate me and I think I will add Olive too. And how many times does Ben have to take the blame/ownership for Grace's actions, feelings? Even in this episode Ben tells Cal that he (BEN) left to work on stuff that he (BEN) is going through, He completely covers Grace's a** for their children and ignores that she doesn't seem to give two cents about Ben (or Cal based on how she behaves with her son). GRACE is the one who "asked" him to leave (AKA threw him out). Then when Ben (who in my opinion was justified) got angry because Danny was in HIS home with HIS wife and children, he was yelled at and demeaned by his wife and her boyfriend as well as his daughter!! I think Ben should just take Cal, forget about Grace and Olive, and let them live happily ever after since apparently by returning he and Cal have basically screwed up their lives.
