    Leaving Neverland

I have never been a Michael Jackson fan. I didn’t even pay much attention when the rumors of molestation came out, so I watched this more out of curiosity than anything. How eye opening and how sickening! I was willing to keep an open mind until I heard the stories. Even if one could believe he never molested anyone, it’s just too weird to understand why he would even have these boys in his room and his bed and claim he was just showing them love. That, in and of itself, made me skeptical, but you know what chilled me to the bone were the pictures someone above posted with MJ and Emmanuel Lewis drinking out of baby bottles and him sitting on MJ’s lap at 16 years old. No 16-year-old in his right mind would be sitting comfortably on someone's lap, whether his growth was stunted or not.

TV Shows you can watch over and over again

Bates Motel. I never tire of it. The cast was stellar. Even the characters I found unlikable gave fantastic performances. There are also certain episodes of The Wire I can watch over and over.

I didn’t get the feeling there was another woman. What I did think was that this man was severely emotionally unstable. All his talk about weird conspiracies, video taping scenes in the home to suggest his wife and child were still around, placing maimed dolls at the graveside and most of all requesting that the unborn child be removed and placed in the casket definitely indicated serious emotional problems. He probably lost it when she was planning on leaving, since an affair was never mentioned nor a significant insurance policy to my recollection. Plenty has been said about the dumbass detective, so I’ll just agree that he was a bumbling idiot.
  4. My problem with Delilah is that is both unlikable and boring. The actor doesn’t seem as strong as the rest of the cast, which, if the character was likable, would probably be tolerable. Conversely, even if the character was unlikable, if the actor was able to elevate the writing to make her more interesting, that might also be okay. As it stands, I find her neither likable nor interesting, and so for me, she is a blight on the show.

That begs the question, how did they get there in the first place? I'm tired of hearing about the Jussie story. It is taking up far too much press. I've heard much less about bigger stories.

    General True Crime Shows

I haven't watched it yet, although I intend to. I live in the area, and our local TV channel just recently aired a 5-part docu-series covering this as well. I don't know if it is available for everyone to watch, but the station is WDIV in Detroit for anyone interested.

    Speculation for True Detective

I wonder if this isn't all (or at least most of it) going to end up being Wayne's dementia dream.

    S01.E15: The Rock

Assuming Eliot is actually mutually attracted to Danny and considers him more than a friend, I could see him being upset that Danny told Delilah without his consent and before he was ready to share that information with anyone.

    S03.E06: Hunters in the Dark

Story-wise, this season has been a bit messy and convoluted, and I don’t think the story telling is quite as tight as in season 1 (never watched season 2, so no basis for comparison there). Sometimes, it seems confusing, but not unlikable. What I do, however, like better is the character building. I did like the characters in season 1, a lot in fact, but I find this season’s characters so much more rich and compelling.

    S02.E14: Faces

Shawn's and Glassman's marijuana-fueled antics were so ridiculous and unbelievable that I found myself rolling my eyes, and yet, in spite of myself, I was entertained. It was nice to see Glassman in good spirits for a change. Oh, and his nickname "Glarin Assman", hilarious.

Just when I think I am able to tolerate Lea again, she comes back to suck out the life <sigh>!

    General True Crime Shows

As far as Evil Lives Here: This episode was unsettling. I try to empathize with women in abusive situations, realizing it can be hard to leave once you get yourself tangled up in that position, but it seemed to me she walked into this with her eyes wide open. She was warned, on more than one occasion, that he was potentially a child and woman abuser and shrugged it off, and willingly cut herself off from her family for him. When she said the first red flag for her was that he wanted her to keep her phone on speaker all night so he could listen in on her, all I could think was “Lady, there were flashing neon lights well before that.”

    General True Crime Shows

It seems like we are all trying to figure out the perfect murder here, which I find disturbing and yet fascinating. However, I am not sure what that says about me.

Party of One: Unpopular TV Opinions

Agreed! I used to be a completionist, or if you prefer, I had OCD about watching a show from beginning to end, but no more - it’s really not worth the time. It is one thing to keep tuning in if a few episodes, or even an arc, don’t float my boat, but when a show becomes a chore, it’s time to pick up the remote.

    S01.E10: Christmas Wishlist

I keep reading how horrible it is that Eddie and Delilah lie about the paternity of the child, but really, are they just supposed to pile that on the kids on top of everything else? They did agree on the fact that they wanted to present Jon as the father, so I didn't understand Delilah apologizing to Eddie after Sophie became aware of the situation. However, one thing that irks me is that Delilah is constantly trying to keep Eddie invested in her pregnancy regardless.
