    Apparently it was suicide. 😞

    S16.E09: Music City USA

I'm 53 and listen to the Beatles all the time. I have very diverse musical tastes, but they are my favorite and in heavy rotation. eta: jpgr = john, paul, george, ringo

Saw that this morning, so sad for her. I just got the all clear after stage 3 cancer, so feel this really deeply.
  4. I really loved seeing Kate again! She has always been one of my favorites and I was happy to see her do well overall. That showstopper was amazingly detailed and now I want to try pistachios and black currants together. I love Tamal, too, but was a bit disappointed that he went for rather simple bakes. Candice was just feeling cheeky and added some fun to the tent. I was annoyed at Noel always pronoucning her name Can-deece. Stephen is great at that detail work, and his showstopper did look amazing. There's something about him I've never quite warmed to, though. Can't put my finger on it.

YES! Thank you, I was trying to figure out who he reminded me of and this is exactly it!

    TGABS in the Media

Yes! I was so bummed they were on at exactly the same time.
  7. Depending on when this was filmed, Paul could have been going through his divorce. That may explain some of his grumpiness
  8. I had this problem in Japan, but figured out to look for the handicapped stalls which had western toilets. :-)

    S09.E07: Vegan Week

Yes, this! I didn't understand it, since earlier he had shown himself to be into the science-y side of baking. I thought that would make vegan baking really interesting to him, to figure out what each ingredient brings to the bake and how to get the desired result using other ingredients and methods. Oh well.

    S09.E10: The Final

YES! So much this. I don't mind at all when they include some savory baked goods, but I make a clear distinction between baking and cooking. I'm a baker - give me flour, sugar, and butter and I'll go to town. I don't like cooking, and don't want to see three varieties of salsas made on my baking show.

    S09.E09: Semi-Final

Kim-Joy's earrings have matched her bakes for weeks, either animals or food related to the challenges. Briony definitely wore the earrings and shirt for Manon, she confirmed it on her Instagram.

    S09.E01: Biscuit Week

I also agree with all of the likes mentioned above. Another reason to love Manon is that when she had some spare time, she jumped in to help other bakers with their plating. I was not happy with Karen's "want a crisp?" moment, it felt too competitive and bratty for this show. I was super-impressed with Kim-Joy's York biscuits, they looked amazing.

I'm right there with you. Thanks @chessiegal for the heads up. I do have family members with Netflix, so I'll see if one of them can add me!
  14. I've been to Castelo dos Mouros in Portugal (Season 23, Episode 3). Was visiting a cousin who lives in Lisbon and asked specifically to go see this place because of TAR. Don't have photos on this computer, and I am not sure I found the spot where the mat was but it was a great place to visit!

    S03.E05: Pies

I'm watching "Ladies in Lavender" on Amazon, with Judi Dench and Maggie Smith eating Stargazy Pie, with fresh pilchards poking out of it!
