School Cafeteria Food--The Good, the Bad, and the Inedible

I hated baloney and 'luncheon meat' so my sandwiches were either PB&J or tuna fish. Now I was a child in the 70s who took her lunch in a metal lunchbox so that tuna was sitting there half the day not refrigerated. Somehow I'm still here though. 😄 I also loved soup so I'd take that in my thermos and just buy my chocolate milk at school.

School Cafeteria Food--The Good, the Bad, and the Inedible

My favorite days were the ones where we had peas. I'm sure tons of peas went into the trash on those days, but not mine! My elementary school actually had pretty good food. The pizza was awesome. Once I hit middle school it was take your lunch everyday. When I hit high school you could not be caught dead bringing your lunch to school so it was back to cafeteria food and it was so bad. I ate nothing but mashed potatoes, rolls and chocolate milk for the remainder of school except for the days we'd sneak out for lunch. I also remember being jealous in elementary school of the kids that ate breakfast at school even though I only ate cereal for breakfast.

I agree with you. Stella is tiny, I think she's only 5'1. When I was her age I weighed around 115 but I'm half a foot taller than she is. I got body shamed for being so skinny even though it was my natural weight. She looks healthy to me.

    Discontinued Foods You Miss

I like how you were minding your own business in there. I try that but my local Kroger is a hellhole and it never works for me. lol. I miss Knorr chipotle rice. I don't know if it's discontinued but I haven't been able to find it in years. I remember when chipotle flavored stuff was everywhere which was good because I loved it but it got kicked to the side for sriracha everything which I'm not a big fan of.

The Thomas Cruise thing was my favorite. It's usually something small like that for me. I love Holt so much. AB is genius.

    In Memoriam: Celebrity Deaths

When I saw the news yesterday I was shocked that he was 77. It is so easy for me to forget that when I was watching that show as a little kid that it was already 10 years or so off the air. I forget that they are all close to my mom's age (also born in 39). OTOH, maybe because I'm 52 now, 77 seems too young to go. I'm glad I got to see them in the mid 80s even though Mike wasn't on that tour. I will also forever blame the show for me being such a collector of odd things. I was so fascinated with their apartment as a child. RIP Peter.

Hey, if you feel like it can you point me towards some of the interviews you've read? I think that if the actors are discussing it then this probably is something the show is going to explore.

I like to use the word fluid for Quentin because I don't think he is attracted to men. Just Eliot and it's more about the person there not the sex. Here's what they said in this ep: E: I know you and I know you're not.. Q: What does it matter? E: Don't be naive, it matters. So even though Eliot pushed Q away mostly because he was scared, I think this is a concern for him too. I hope the show does explore this because it's something you don't see on TV often. The only other instance I can think of is Jack and Ianto on Torchwood. There may be others but I don't watch all the shows so I don't know. Anyway, feel free to disagree with me, this is just the way I see it.

Jim & Lee. Oh snooze. Bleh. Where's my Ed and Lee reunion? I've always loved this batshit crazy show and easily forgave its flaws but good god I'm bored with this last season. I'm only really interested in Penguin and Riddler anymore so here's hoping they stay partnered up till the end.

    Rocketman (2019)

Oh, I'm definitely going to see this one. I had a huge crush on Elton when I was a kid. I'm all the time watching his videos on YouTube.

S04.E05: Escape from the Happy Place

I've already watched this one again, so good. Welters Margo is hilariously scary. I think I want to be her. lol. The rest of the team was pretty funny too. Fen with her knives and the Quentin that's about to beat up Penny. Probably the only time he's been anywhere in the same country as scary. I said to my son last night that Alice didn't close to the door to the poison room and surely that was going to come back to bite her. If Ol' Chris could get out it might take him a few weeks to die like it did Penny so he could still have time to fuck some shit up. I wasn't thinking about until I read on another board that Martin had put some runes on him so he couldn't die while he was being tortured. If those are still there and he's in there reading all the stuff the library thinks is too dangerous for anyone to see.... Oh and I'm glad Iris is dead just because whenever they said her name I would think of Irene and it was confusing me dammit.

Now that was an episode. I do feel bad for Alice though. Where is she going to go? The gang all hate her and she doesn't care for her mom. This can't be good.

    I, Tonya (2017)

I watched this yesterday. I think it was good? I don't know, I was zonked out of my mind. They did get the press conference and the skate lace thing right, I remember those like it was yesterday.
