A nice article on Caitriona in The Irish Times It also states that her and Sam have been made producers for Season 5.

This was great! And Claire had a bit of side-eye going on too. Looking forward to more reactions next season! I thought she had good chemistry with Lord John (although who wouldn't!?). I quite like her as Jamie and Claire's daughter too, those scenes worked for me although it's obviously not romantic chemistry! Maybe their onscreen spark will develop as the show goes on but sometimes it just doesn't happen. It's not a show-stopper on it's own but when the writing around the relationship is weak as well it's harder to overcome.

I'm very curious what you mean by that. I don't know what you felt needed to be earned or by whom. As a viewer I didn't feel invested enough in their relationship to be emotionally moved by the moment (which was clearly directed to be seen as a big climatic scene). To pull off a dramatic run to your loved one reunion without looking cliche or overly sappy I feel like you need to really believe in the relationship. For me personally, I haven't seen enough of them together to understand why they love each other. They have spent most of their relationship apart, she rejected his marriage proposal and he basically slut shamed her, then she goes back in time and he follows her, convinces her to marry him for reasons I don't feel were made particularly clear, they then fight straight away, he leaves and now she knows that after being rescued he had to think about whether to even come back for her after knowing she'd been brutally raped.... I don't see some epic love story there so the reunion, filmed as it was, didn't really work for me personally.

A solid finale although not my favourite (season 2 is probably). They did a good job of wrapping things up while also laying the groundwork for next season. I feel we got a bit shortchanged on Ian this season but the scene between him and Jamie broke my heart. Really well acted and they sold the emotion. I liked Jocasta and Murtagh, although I'm not sure where they will take it now that Murtagh is a wanted man. I felt so sorry for Bree that neither her parents or Roger were around for her giving birth, and then with Roger not returning straight away... How awful for her. I didn't feel that her dramatic run towards him was earned at all, that part fell quite flat to me although I know the writers probably wanted a happy ending before the Murtagh reveal. I don't know, I find them a problematic couple in the book and the actors don't have enough chemistry for me to overlook it in the show either. Will be interesting to see how they deal with their relationship next season. I felt that the episode lacked some kind of reconciliation between Bree and Jamie at the end, particularly after their conflict drove the action for the latter part of tge season. It's a tough book to adapt, given some of the contrived storytelling and plot lines, probably the hardest of all of them all. I think they did a pretty reasonable job although I doubt I will rewatch as many episodes as previous seasons. But looking forward to next season!

How was it over the top? He was excited to be in the semis of an Open, I hope he never loses that joy for the sport. He then proceeded to give a very classy interview about Millman. I really don't see what the issue is but then I have never understood the dislike of Novak. She's great isn't she? One set up and a break in the second. I like Keys but think an Osaka - Williams final could be very interesting.

https://www.wlns.com/news/local-news/former-msu-gymnastics-coach-kathy-klages-charged-with-lying-to-investigators/1390735429 Klages was the gymnastics coach at MSU and multiple gymnasts testified that they had reported Nassar's actions to her but she refused to do anything, in some cases actively encouraging them not to go to police. Klages claimed to investigators that no concerns were ever raised with her. However she has now been charged with lying to investigators.
  7. Even better was the fact that all top eight female gymnasts hit all of their events across 2 days at the championships - as in, no-one fell or had a huge mistake across eight routines. I can't even remember this happening before - and it just goes to show how necessary it is to continue to dismantle the stressful and secretive system and the culture of fear that enabled so much of this abuse to occur in the first place. Watching the girls come out and perform so consistently and look so free was just wonderful (noting that there is still plenty of work to do in this space!) Just a note that Simone has actually never won a medal of any colour for uneven bars before this event, it is generally considered her 'weakest' event - if such a thing exists for such a brilliant gymnast. You might be thinking of balance beam at Rio where she 'only' won bronze? I think this started earlier this year with MSU students (where Nassar also worked and abused hundreds of students) wearing teal ribbons and clothes to sporting events on campus. A lot of NCAA gymnasts wore teal ribbons throughout the season as well, and many of the US gymnasts have worn teal ribbons on their leotards. It's a lovely way to show some support and build awareness.

I was watching the international feed and they showed her beam and maybe floor . She was obviously injured because her beam was watered down (just a layout dismount) and her feet were heavily strapped. Great team! Very excited for Shilese and Trinity to get some international experience. Grace looked very consistent at nationals, I wonder if she will get an alternate spot for the Worlds team?

It's so enjoyable watching and getting to know the new up and coming gymnasts, I am loving Morgan Hurd, Trinity Thomas and Shilese Jones. I really like McCusker on bars, she has a lovely swing. Hurd's floor was my favourite, she really performs and sells it, and it also has a high degree of difficulty (although obviously nowhere near the insane tumbling that Carey and Biles have in their routines!). But overall while I can appreciate the incredible tumbling technique, I enjoyed watching Hurd the most. I also suspect that she will be scored a little higher by the international judges who definitely reward the artistry and performance more than the US judges tend to. Trinity has a lovely elegance to her work, it would be great to see her on the worlds team although she doesn't really have a standout event. I must mention after the eyesore that was Classics, Simone's leotard on night 1 was divine! The black and gold suited her to perfection, I hope she wears it again some time. Also on point was Chiles on night 2, a Wonder Woman leotard, brilliant.

The Duggalos: Jinger and the Holy Goalie

Weren't there photos of Jinger wearing pants ( like sports tracksuit pants?) before she started courting Jeremy? She always seemed the most into fashion of the older girls so I'm not surprised that she has branched out more in that respect since escaping the compound. Whether she sought 'permission' or not I have no idea but I think the initiative would have been all hers.

That video link reminds me - Simone's leotard... wow, those fluoro yellow flames hurt my eyes! European Championships were this past weekend. A weakened field due to injury but there were some fabulous results for smaller programs - France and Netherlands getting the silver and bronze in the team event, Hungary winning vault (the video of Devai and her coach celebrating is very cute!), Adelberg from Sweden getting a silver on bars, and France, Belgium and the Netherlands picking up several medals in the event finals. Russia easily won the team title - of note this was Irina Alexeeva's first competition for her birth country (she trained at WOGA and was trying to get US citizenship to represent the US but was never able to). She is a great addition to the Russian team, very steady and consistent.

Riley looked great! I was a bit worried about whether she would be able to overcome all the recent injuries but she looked strong and focused here. Very excited about her potentially being a key part of the next Worlds team. Simone impressed me most on her floor (as usual!). It's almost unbelievable, the height that she gets on all her passes, such effortless tumbling. She's lucky that it looks like her body type hasn't changed at all, she's still so slight and compact. That was where Douglas struggled on her comeback, a growth spurt can be very challenging when trying to relearn all your skills! Shame about the beam fall for Morgan but I do love her floor, she has such charisma and performance value. Her bars were also looking fab, beautiful lines. Shilese Jones had a great meet, nice and consistent to get fourth place. Was hoping to see Trinity Thomas compete but sounds like she has headed off to college already. Is Ragan's ankle still sore from World's? That is a bit worrying, it was almost 10 months ago??

Thrilled for Djokovic to win this one, although the real final was the fabulous semi with Rafa, what a great game that was. Anderson was clearly shattered here, although I suspect that Djokovic would have beaten him regardless because his game style seems to match up well with Anderson. But it would have been more entertaining for the crowd if it could have been closer. I'm always a sucker for a redemption/return storyline so I was really glad that Novak was able to return to his best form after his elbow surgery and loss in confidence. Am rooting for Murray to make a successful comeback now! I also particularly enjoy when Novak wins at Wimbledon because I've had the fortune to watch him play there and honestly, I find the British crowds borderline disrespectful with how they treat him. It comes across on TV a bit, but is much worse in person. So I was glad to see that this time, he didn't even try to woo them over, but just used their antagonism to drive him on and motivate him! A bit late but the Women's Final was also a great game, I was probably rooting for Serena (again, the comeback angle!) but Kerber is a worthy champion and she played extremely well. Her delight at the end was lovely. Looking forward to the US Open now!
