The Marvel Cinematic Universe: The Avengers, etc.

It popped up in my Facebook feed as a poll asking 'How will Thanos be defeated?' The choices was the Ant-Man one and the other was Captain Marvel. Ant-Man won with 91% of the votes.

    Toy Story 4 (2019)

I'm probably contributing my indifference to the trailer to the fact that I feel Toy Story 3 was one of the best conclusion to a movie series ever. I would probably be more excited if this was some sort of midquel explaining how Bo Peep left the gang. That way I could watch the series and still end with Toy Story 3. The most exciting part of the movie was the appearance of Mr Potato Head. I'm glad he hasn't disappeared, I don't even care if it's a silent cameo, it still makes me happy.

    Us (2019)

I suck at watching horrors, trailers are normally enough for me. I just read the Wikipedia plot and wait for CinemaSins to do a video to show me the movie. But after watching the trailer, I won't be surprised if the movie ends with the audience thinking the good person killed the bad doppelganger but then its revealed to us that the doppelganger actually survived. I also won't be surprised if the are actually good person/bad doppelganger. I out it in spoilers as I can't remember if they appear in the trailer but Wikipedia lists them. And I'm not brave enough to watch the trailer again to check.

    Aladdin (2019)

Can someone help me out, and it may be because the past week has just be full on for me but I don't understand the joke surrounding Aladdin's request to 'Make me a prince'. What am I missing with the Genie's joke? I have tried really hard but I just don't get it.

    Aladdin (2019)

I think this is one reason why I'm cautiously optimistic about this redo, cause at least its a legit live action remake with touches of CGI. For me it makes sense. Whereas that Lion King think confuses me to why we need another animated version, and there was far too many CGI characters in Beast for me to truly see it as a real live action re do. Beast may have worked for me if they took the Broadway representation of the objects instead of going CGI. I think it was Roger Ebert who once said (paraphrasing) "Animation is the ideal medium to create 'non real' stuff cause we have been conditioned that the laws of physics and nature don't apply, so we can accept anything we see on the screen without question" (which I could find the review he said that in to get the real quote). I feel with some of the stories Disney (and other studios) want to tell fail to allow me to be fully immersed in the story because the CGI is so jarring with the live action. ANd since it is live action, I expect the laws of nature and physics to be followed.

    Aladdin (2019)

I'm a wary of this after Beauty and the Beast, but after watching that trailer at least it sounds like they got people who can actually sing for the leads. I have the right to change my opinion when all the songs are released. And I'll be upfront I am more likely to enjoy this than BatB because it's not one of my all time fav movies, unlike Beast. But I totally sympathise with all those that are seeing their fav 'cartoon' being destroyed. Cause it does hurt, it really does when Disney destroys their own legacy.

    Shazam! (2019)

Wow, this is probably my first experience of a Mandela Effect cause I could have sworn they said Shazam! I would have bet my life on it, luckily I didn't!

    Shazam! (2019)

I remember a cartoon where a boy and girl would combined their rings and shout SHAZAM! and a hero appeared. Is that the same Shazam as this character?

    Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)

From what I've read explaining the difference between the two categories is that Sound Editing is more about creating the Sound Effects of the movie. While Sound Mixing is obviously getting everything in the right level from the speaking being say the focus while a chirping bird in the background is muted, Musical type films tend to be favoured for Mixing as that is where that stuff is really valued, and from what I have read the fact BoRap when Sound Editing does show that the Academy doesn't truly understand that category. From what I can tell if it was called Sound Effects Editing, people would be voting for the 'better' movies in that category. I have to admit though that the blame does have to lie with the Sound Editors a bit, since they tend to nominate the same movies as the Mixers which makes it look like a redundant category. After the Editors have picked their top 5, the whole Academy then votes. From what I read leading up to the Awards, A Quiet Place was the better movie for Sound Editing.

    X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019)

I'm a tad confused to be honest. I know Days of Future Past effectively wiped The Last Stand from history, but did it also make a time change in the earlier timeline. Cause if it didn't that means Jean went Phoenix before the original movies, meaning that they would have known how to 'fix' Jean before she went nuts in The Last Stand? Just because The Last Stand didn't happen, doesn't mean you get to repeat yourself franchise and have it make sense. Or should I just not care about the timeline for these movies?

    Will & Grace

I totally forgot David Schwimmer was part of this show until I was checking out the Will & Grace pag on Wikipedia and saw him listed as a Special Guest Star. And my response was 'Oh yeah, that was a plot point earlier in the season.

    Unpopular Opinions

I think This Is Me from The Greatest Showman is just an average decent anthem song. I personally feel that if Rewrite The Stars had been submitted for Best Original Song as the Oscars it would have beaten the Coco song. The lyrics progress that storyline so much better than This Is Me. Plus I think the actually scene for Stars is so much better than the way This Is Me was presented within the film.

    Will & Grace

I've never enjoyed Malcolm and Karen so I wasn't ecstatic when Alec Baldwin popped up on the screen, This episode wasn't as consistently funny as last week but it still made me laugh. And I;;m glad that Will was horrified that he almost dated a married man.

    S03.E12: Chapter Forty-Seven: Bizarrodale

First episode of this season that I pretty much watched all of it since Kevin, Moose and Josie were heavily featured. I found it interesting that while we got the standard heterosexual teen sex scenes, and even a decent lesbian bed scene (from memory it has been a week) I found it telling that not only did the gay sex scene go back to the good old 90s way of moving offscreen, it seems the boys consummated their relationship while fully clothed. I know a lot of people aren't fans of Moovin, but I was. So the departure of Moose makes me even less inclined to tune in now. And I also get the impression that Josie is possibly being written out. Which would leave Kevin as my sole reason to watch, meaning I will be able to watch episodes in under 4 minutes. Thank goodness I get this via Netflix and not forced to sit through the actual show on regular TV. How did this show drift so far away from the awesomeness that was Season 1 where I was invested in every single character?

    Frozen 2 (2019)

I feel like I'm the only Disney fan not going gaga over the first teaser. And look the animation looks wonderful but I dunno maybe it's my bias of thinking the story doesn't need a sequel combined with the fact that in retrospect I don't find Frozen totally amazing. I admit when I first saw it I was blown away and swept up in the whole musical aspect which has been missing for a long time from the Disney canon but with regular watching I realise the songs aren't as seamless as say Menken's early works and I will always view the Hans twist as lazy shock writing and it will never sit comfortably with me. So maybe I;m just jaded. I'm hoping this sequel isn't as serious as the trailer implies it is. One of the things I do enjoy about the original Frozen is the humour (well maybe not Olaf's humour). The original one was 'epic' in scale but this one seems to be going overboard with the epicness. And everytime I see those Autumn leaves move I have two thoughts 1) Is Pocahontas making an appearance and 2) Are they setting up for their to be 2 more sequels to cover Spring and Summer. This second one leads me to think Is Disney finally realising their TinkerBell movie plans where each one was meant to cover a particular season. I hope I get less jaded by the time of the release.
