S03.E01: Ciao, Napoli! 2018.05.15

Yeah, the guests were pigs. They were trying so hard to be vile,  that I hope it was for the camera. Though with the way our society is deteriorating, it could have been genuine. My only complaint with the food is all the bare hand handling. Gross. Use gloves at least.

Did anyone notice that the big yacht that they approached had an arabic name. As such the owner was probably a Saudi and therefore a muslim - so what do they do, approach waving a big bottle of alcohol !! Yes - a sure fire way of getting onto a yacht like that !! Idiots !

I can understand them doing that if they owned the yacht they chartered (even then you save the socialising for the yacht clubs) - but considering they were in effect renters, that was just so common ! They say they have class and are use to the finer life - then do that !  They are just cheap boozy broads !

I missed that.  What was the name of the boat?

I snorted when Princess Puke-A-Lot said the boats she worked on never left the dock

to be fair she said never went out onto the open ocean or something like that. I figured she meant they just motored around Long Island Sound.

They forgot they weren't on a pontoon at Party Cove on Lake Of The Ozarks.

A tweet from Hannah:

More

Always interesting to see a charter guests spewing lies and blaming production for their disgusting behaviour. Someone forgets there’s another week to go and now I will be holding no prisoners. Make sure to live tweet - as this week...not holding back. #belowdeckmed

Oh, this is awesome.  The mega yacht the women approached for a "hospitality check" is apparently owned by the Emir of Qatar.

They also complained that champagne is only for breakfast, but asked for champagne at dinner and that Adam's pasta dish was something they could make at home despite saying absolutely nothing about his caprese salad, which is so basic that it's on the menu of nearly every chain Italian restaurant in America. It's so basic that I've seen it at nearly every potluck I've been to for the past decade.

These bitches were beyond basic and so fucking stupid.

I think if you're willing to play yourself acting like a demanding jerk on national television you're pretty much almost there anyway.

The constant call for nuts was funny, but they did have a point.  It seems weird to me that in the upstairs bar set up there weren't already snacks close by to partially offset the booze consumption.  I'd want snacky things in easy reach and it was literally one of their first requests upon boarding.

They're quick to welcome people to the yacht with a glass of champagne -- a cheese plate, nuts and fruit platter seems like a no brainer for people who may have been traveling to get there.  And the worst that can happen if they don't eat it is you serve the crew or offer it again during the evening.  In fact, for this kind of money (I know they're discounted for the show, but they're still ADVERTISING high class service), I'd probably expect to be asked if I had a hankering for something sweet OR something savory, or both.  And believe me - I'd be happy with microwaved nachos/oreos, even served in a bowl... but I'd expect to be offered SOMEthing.

This is a thing that is always so weird. So often the upstairs bars aren’t properly stocked even for drinks so they are always making things in the galley it just seems so inefficient. Also, they shouldn’t have to wait for Adam to get the nuts when it didn’t appear that they were overwhelmed even though they were down a stew.

The guests absolutely sucked but Hannah’s service was also not on point.

That woman talking about the zebra rug disgusted me. She deserves everything she gets for that comment alone.

I think some of the disconnect is because most of the crew is used to longer charters where they really get to know the guests habits, schedules, likes and dislikes. They get to know that they guests like a 10:30 snack of olives, cheese, and bread. More than anything, I think they don't have snacks available when the guests board because they're waiting to see what the guests want--do they want snacks, snacks and a light lunch, a heavy lunch, or an early dinner. And I think they keep the booze down in the galley to keep the guests from getting dangerously intoxicated when there might be a single stew or no stew on service at night.

Though I think Ben was much better at setting aside snacks so that the stews could provide those to the guests. I just read this post by someone who has chartered boats and has cruised on their own boats for years. It's really informative. It talks about having a snack bin prepared, set aside, and refilled every day. I think this is what Ben used to do because I can recall stews putting together small snack plates and bowls of chips and popcorn.

They keep most of the booze out in the main lounge at all times so I don’t think that’s it. It’s things like they don’t have a blender up there or coffee maker or garnishes which I is why I think it’s just a horribly designed service plan.  They often grab the alcohol from the main lounge bar to take down to the galley it’s a stupid set up and it’s on both this one and the original.

but the crew doesn't know who owns that lovely boat? Any chance they pushed the idea about "how about that really beautiful one over there?"

I personally believe that guests should be offered food without their having to ask or be asked.  Hannah is a poor excuse for a stew.

Does her union keep her from filljng a bowl with nits while jerkass chef brunoises and juliennes the fruit?  Outside of which, twenty some minutes?

what they are selling is first class service to your preference.  Very bad start on the part of the crew.

I agree with everyone on being baffled over the top deck bar. Why not have snacks up there,  it did take too long for nuts. Those ladies were still obnoxious.  Lmao at the yacht they approached,  thank you to the poster who put that up.

I can't get over how they seem to expect them to find them some dick.  I can see why none came with them....

The other thing that I thought was interesting was that Adam had to send the other stew down to the crew mess to look for crackers. This nut thing told me two things: 1. Hannah and Adam have this very rigid ideas about delegation of duties (chef deals with the food and stews handle booze, service, and cleaning) and 2. Adam's galley isn't super well organized yet. And maybe three things, that there might be a bit of a difference between American and European styles of hospitality service.

Oy, this lady and her nuts. I just turned the show on, and I’m already over her.

A small moment to defend....it doesn't take long to open a package of nuts, pour them in a fancy circular type container that's NOT a bowl and run them upstairs.

Done.

I don't like Hannah, but on her side for this one.

They are the worst kind of customer.  And what blows me away, is the red head  (I swear I've seen her on reality tv before) said she had stale pistachios and edibles. I call shenanigans on her having edibles. That or go eat some already...

We all need you to adjust your attitude.

I really liked Capt Sandy last season, but i found her TH about Hannah and Adam rather funny. Coming off all stern, making it seem like they were only there because Sandy herself gave them a second chance. They’re there because Bravo wants them there, Hannah especially, so let’s be real here.

Pukey girl, I’m not going to be able to watch that all season. She certainly is inexperienced and naive, but i didn’t get the whiny, entitled Jen(from BD original) vibe from her yet. I did get a bit of that from the female deck hand though.

I think Princess Pukes A Lot could be good, but entitled deckhand girl is making my eye twitch.  So far none of the men bug.

My theory is Captain Sandy was telling the truth that she doesn't like people who lie to her.  Hannah lied several times in regards to the charter guest.  TV viewers were more angry about Bugsy and snooping, than Hannah and her lying.  I got the vibe from the reunion that Sandy was incredibly let down by Hannah.

Which?  I believe adam copped to his lying, while Hannah continued to focus on Bugsy and not her own behavior.

Sometimes when you are on a yacht it doesn't necessarily have to be bad weather and choppy seas. For me, if the boat is rocking because it's  windy or for what ever other reason,  it's the slow motion rocking back and forth of the boat that makes me sick to my stomach. If you take Dramamine, it has to be taken before you get sick, not during. It's too late by then.

Never had a problem on a boat.  It's  being back on land where I've had issues!

I watched it again this morning (because I couldn’t believe the insanity) and yep, they reference lunch in the complaint.  They said it was served like lunch and that is apparently not cool or chi chi enough for them.

I’m now DYING to find out what sets Sandy off and has shouting that she just wants to fire Hannah and putting the boat at jeopardy.  It can’t just be her hooking up with Babyface Bosun. Surely there is more to it than that because dude, hook ups happen.  Otherwise we wouldn’t be on Season 3 of this show.  LOL.

I am looking forward to this.  My opinion of Hannah is pretty low.

Yup.  Sometimes I am a jerk.......;)

What did Hannah lie about that was so awful, kissing a charter guest?  What Bugsey or Buggs or whatever her name was, was worse IMO because she went into someone's property without asking.  To me, that's one step away from stealing.

Hannah lied about who approached who.  Hannah lied about being in the stateroom.  Hannah lied about the length of time spent in the guests room.

Hannah lied about the entire incident until she started getting called out on it and then she told half truths or continued to lie about it.

She should get into politics.

Yeah, I thought the guests were awful, but I did wonder "how hard is it to bring them a bowl of nuts????"  Not to excuse their rude, tacky behavior later.

I bet the guests already had a few drinks before they boarded but that does not excuse their acting like one day gambler cruisers.  They acted more like Celebration type guests with  unlimited drinks cards.   Bet they try to tromp around the deck in stiletto heels and way too small bikinis.  Bougie all the way.

I've used a patch, the bracelet, Dramamine, literally nothing helps except being out on deck with a breeze.  I've also continued to be seasick on land after docking.  The only thing that cures it is walking around on land.

I have found that the only way to feel better is to get into the water.  I have puked my guts out on the way to a scuba excursion, have a great time diving and then puke the whole way back.  I hate motion sickness!
