Sounds like he was just there to party with Emily and Stephen and the gang this time.

Spoiler

But Roy is expected to show up sometime in the back half of the season.

I'm sorry but I find this ridiculous. His comments, imo, were problematic. He could have clarified what he meant, especially since I saw a lot of people with the same concerns as her, but he went full man baby. To me, that tells me he either feels guilty over something, or he's not the ally he claims to be. Having the cast come for that one fan, that didn't insult him is disgusting. I already don't like SA, so nothing he does surprises me but the rest I am side-eyeing so hard. I had no issues with Rick, I hate Rene, but Rick was fine. I actually liked him in Coach Carter, but now I can't stand him and I hope he gets killed off the show. With all the vitriol, threats, and insults that Emily, Katie, and other women have dealt with he looks like a delicate snowflake. And all over someone saying his comments sounded like he was defending ak.

Also, as a publicist, I wanna shake the person bts that's allowing these things to go on.

I'm probably jumping into this long after you've all moved on, but I don't often read the social media stuff.

That said, I thought RG's entire response was sexist as fuck.  Any man who describes women as "special creatures and beings" who "we [men] have to protect" is a sexist dick. Women are human beings, not special creatures. Women don't need to be protected--they need not be assualted, abused, harassed, and raped. An ally doesn't deny agency. An ally doesn't point out Otherness. An ally doesn't fucking stereotype.

I'm disgusted that it's on RG's behalf that SA et al. exert their outrage.

To be honest, I’m still not sure which one of them it’s supposed to be. Whoever he is is wearing a red hoodie, isn’t he?

Based on the replies on twitter if they are making their decisions based on that then Iris is probably getting one.

I personally think they should do a Felicity as Ghostfox though myself cause Felicity funkos sell out and quickly as well. Or do limited editions of Barry and Iris in their wedding attire and Oliver and Felicity in their wedding reception attire.

I didn't need a kid to understand looking around at great heights and wondering what the hell I was doing there.  I do find his comments about suddenly being more sympathetic to social anxiety interesting.  He'd seemed pretty sympathetic to EBR's issues in the past but perhaps he'd always thought it was something an individual could control if they really worked at it.

I really need someone to find those pictures of him looking like he wants to sob.

While I don't want to make light of what he went through, I do have to admit that sometimes it bugs me when celebrities just talk about stuff like this as though it just something you have. Maybe I read his post wrong, which is on me, but I am often not objective when it deals with stuff I have to deal with.

I did and do suffer from social anxiety and it isn't just a panic attack once in a while. It changes your whole being. Every day you struggle with being in situations that seem super normal to people around you and the smallest thing could set me off. It is embarrassing and you feel ashamed of yourself because people often don't get what is wrong and why you behave 'weird' all of a sudden. For example, maybe going to the movies can work but once it's crowded in a theatre, you feel as though you might jump out off your skin. It is difficult for some people to understand what you are going through even when they are trying to be understanding. Very rarely I want to talk about it with people, not family and friends and certainly not strangers.

I do think that mental health is an individual thing and everyone can struggle in their own way and some events heighten your fears but while being afraid of heights and having social anxiety can go together, they are still two individuals problems. You can be afraid of heights but not have social anxiety. Having kids can additionally heighten a problem. Usually, in the end, you are afraid of dying. Children can bring that out more in you because you want to be there for your kids.

I don't mean to come off as rude or making light of his experience but I feel as though he is basically saying sorry for not looking happy in photos that he took with fans on holiday. At the end of the day, I hope he can find a way to deal with whatever issues he has.

Hopefully nobody took this the wrong way because I am truly not trying to be rude or a horrible person about it and I don't mean to offend anyone.

I feel for him. I can't imagine having a major panic attack and then being met by a crowd of people/strangers who have expectations for how you should be interacting with them and knowing that they'd be taking/posting pictures of you post-meltdown. I'm sure he was hugely self-conscious of how he was presenting himself to these children and their parents when he'd just been terrified by something and had an experience he hadn't before. He's generally so great with fans and kids; he was probably embarrassed by having panicked and also knew he wasn't giving as much of himself as he usually seems to when taking photos with fans. And then knowing that people would be posting pictures online of a time when you felt overwhelmed and vulnerable? Ugh.

I feel for him too. I never used to be afraid of heights until the last few years. A couple of weeks ago while I was on vacation, we visited the world’s second tallest building. I didn’t have a full-blown panic attack, but I was incredibly anxious, and even though my family was kind and supportive, I felt so embarrassed by my reaction. I’m trying to imagine interacting with other people right after that experience, and I just can’t. I’m amazed that Stephen was able to do it.

In any event, I’m glad that he shared that. Obviously there are people with much greater anxiety and people with lesser anxiety, but I think it helps to know that it can affect anyone, even someone who swings from trees and does incredibly dangerous stunts during his day job. Just reading his post made me feel slightly less self-conscious about a conversation I had with my brother, trying to explain how I developed a fear of heights late in my 30s. (See, it happens to other people too, LOL.)   I hope the responses to his invitation for people to share their own experiences will be helpful to others.

Or I think you can have sympathy for and be supportive of someone who is dealing with loss or pain or fear, but you don't truly understand because you haven't experienced it yourself. When you do go through something similar then you have a deeper and fuller comprehension as to what that experience actually is.

Because this is his first time dealing with a panic attack, I think he's mistaking the tail end of his/the comedown and not wanting to meet with people after that as some kind of social anxiety, which it isn't - and he'll learn that if he researches it. Thankfully I haven't had a panic attack in a couple of years, but when I'm coming down from one I just want to lie down and rest for a little while - they are disorienting, and having to meet a whole bunch of people while feeling that way must've been hard - since he seems to be pretty welcoming with fans all the time, he's probably conflating the anxiety he was feeling with the not wanting to meet with his fans.

He attribute it to having a kid but it's also possible that it's she related -- as we get older we often get more afraid. Or it could be for a wholly different reason.

I had my first panic attacks when I was pregnant. They went away after the baby was born (or rather she took them with her because she still has them) and I got a whole new set after chemotherapy and those stuck around.

S.A. is awkward in that post and maybe he sounds somewhat arrogant but I'm glad he said something. There's still a huge stigma around mental illness and talking about it as a normal thing is only good.

I see Reddit is done with its Punisher impersonation and is back to being just Arrow.  Though if you look it up, it's officially called "Greg Berlanti Ruined Arrow"  They REALLY didn't like Olicity getting married, did they, lol.

No they did not. They're more obsessed with discussing Olicity than we are. At this point there's no rational discussion. She's being blamed for every other female death/departure, including Thea's downgraded storyline (in a season where she herself didn't have much going on until the latter part.) Sooner or later GB/MG and Olicity will be blamed for the downfall of the Roman Empire, just by existing in the future.

They are trying to raise money for a charity ala the Olicity Bench, or at least there's an idea to but I don't think anything's been organised yet.

Their latest wish is to find some artist to paint a mural of GA and KC's BC somewhere in Vancouver but they have zero organization so far on how to make any of it happen.

Well it's better than the first suggestion, which was to raise money for the park to take the bench down or someone to go vandalise it (to be fair others shot the latter down as mean spirited)

People are perfectly entitled to hire someone to do charity fan art for them but it's going to be wishful thinking because the closest this GA/BC came to actual friendship was just before she died in S4 and that was when they knew she was going in an ep and he was upset about another woman.

They'd be better off hiring Lord Mesa or someone to do a series of comics inspired Dinah and Ollie art and auction that off for charity (or a mural if they really want one) rather than a portrait of SA/KC.

You should consider your life choices if you sit at home and consider vandalism. (Isn't it considered a crime?) It is a tv show and yes, you might not have the same opinion and might be not a fan of this project but these people did a nice thing that benefits the park and it made them feel good but considering to destroy it is taking it too far.

You could just ignore it. That would be a valid option.

The reddit crowd doesn't seem to understand that vandalizing the bench doesn't waste the Olicity fandom's money, it makes the park use money that was donated to fix the vandalism. They don't seem to grasp that the money didn't buy the actual bench or the plaque - that the donation was part of an organized fundraiser where the bench is the tangible thing that the donor "gets" to mark the donation. It's why a lot of them suggest murals and statues (someone suggested commissioning a statue of KC's Black Canary and dedicating it to abused women) - something to memorialize Laurel or Lauriver, but isn't an actual charitable act because the money has to go toward procuring the memorial.

I guess that's what you get when the goal is one-upmanship instead of charity.
