  1. Season 35 Final Jeopardy Contest

    Week 19 - 2/5, no * Season to date - 51/95, 6*
  2. Jeopardy! Season 35 (2018-2019)

I knew FJ because I have a friend in London who is a huge fan of Banksy and was before he became famous. She searched out his work (graffiti) in various locations and shared pictures of them. I read GWTW for fun, in my early 20’s. I got to see it in a theatre (restored to its former glory) some years later. Pretty impressive, much better than on even a large TV screen. However, the book is huge! Can’t imagine hiding it!
  3. Happy Together

Quite enjoyed the show during its run. This episode, with Claire singing the duet with Cooper, and then finding she's expecting, had a lot of good moments. Sad to think it's likely not returning.
  4. S01.E09: Standoff

Got to watch it yesterday. Agree with much of the comments, but I enjoy it a lot.
  5. S01.E09: Standoff

Agree - but my on demand doesn't have it available yet. I could go to the ABC app on my phone, but the screen is so tiny! Hope I can catch it next Tuesday; it should be available then.
  6. Season 35 Final Jeopardy Contest

    Week 18 - 4/5, 1* Season to date - 49/90, 6*
  7. Jeopardy! Season 35 (2018-2019)

Had a good week up until Friday’s DJ. My guess was Dr. Schweitzer; it was the only doctor I could think of, other than Dr. Spock.
  8. Jeopardy! Season 35 (2018-2019)

On both Jan. 9 and Jan. 10, local stations made errors in the episodes that were broadcast. The Jeopardy Fan comments indicate that Jan. 9 was due to the Sacramento station, and the Jan. 10 was due to Boston station. Yes, I wasn't sorry to see Dave out early. I would have been fine with either Jessica or Anneke winning.
  9. Jeopardy! Season 35 (2018-2019)

Was rosebud a ts? I had written that down, as well as several of the others mentioned.
  10. Jeopardy! Season 35 (2018-2019)

I lived in Nebraska, so I knew Kool-Aid was the state drink. Additional trivia: Icees were invented in Coffeyville, Kansas. I knew the WWI answer because of the Snoopy and the Red Baron song; it gets play during the holiday season. We have Colonial Joe Cool on DoG (Duke of Gloucester) Street (Williamsburg, VA) t-shirts and sweatshirts! A local store had them, so we bought several. This was shortly before Schultz died. Still have them, still wear them! Google Colonial Joe Cool to see an image. Can't paste it here; it's too big. When I was a little girl, maybe 3, we were having roast beef with mashed potatoes. I loved mashed potatoes, and insisted on having some of Dad's. I didn't know that it was horseradish on Dad's plate! Yep, painful!
  11. Jeopardy! Season 35 (2018-2019)

Stevenson was almost an instaget for me. I've been to a RLS museum in St. Helena California, and also visited Braemar Castle in Scotland, where he had stayed for a time, so that helped. I also got St. Ives and tea caddy.
  12. Season 35 Final Jeopardy Contest

Getting caught up. Week 16 - 2/5, no * Season to date - 43/80, 4* Week 17 - 2/5, 1* Season to date - 45/85, 5* Had a great time with family, but glad to be back. I missed my dogs, and all of you too!
  13. S04.E07: Down the Rabbit Hole

I know. Also, after she sprained her ankle, and she was limping along, surrounded by trees, she didn't find a limb to use as a crutch!
  14. Season 35 Final Jeopardy Contest

Week 15 - 3/5, no * Season to date - 41/75, 4* I'll be away next week, but I'll post when I'm back! Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and best wishes for whatever your holiday observance may be!
  15. About phone technology... I grew up out in the country. Originally our phone was on a switchboard, when we lifted the ear piece and turned the crank. When the operator answered we told her the 3-digit phone number, but we could also tell her who we wanted to reach, and she knew or looked it up. When we got a dial phone, we were on a party line with several other households. And our 7-digit number began with MA (Mayfair), followed by 5 digits. 911 became active beginning in early 1968. Touchtone technology was introduced at the 1962 World's Fair, but took a while until it was more prevalent.
