  1. S04.E02: Do No Harm

I think the difference is that book one/season one was a shorter amount of time than most others. Claire fell threw the stones & 6 weeks later married Jamie & we saw that then in real time...but after that we can't always tell if an episode is a day, a week, or a month?
  2. S04.E02: Do No Harm

Colum is dead too, so Leticia must be running things! I guess we should google up what actually happened in the Scottish highlands after Culloden?? That's what I did to find out that French, English & Native Canadians did indeed have slaves, but to a very small degree compared to the Southern US & Carribbean (because of the plantations).
  3. S04.E02: Do No Harm

Now I need a history lesson from my own country-did Canadians ever have slaves? I did wonder what happened to all the Scots who survived Culloden. Who raised Hamish? What happened at Castle Leoch? But that's not what this story was about> we did see Lallybrock in a few of those years ( 301 & 308).

I can`t say I feel the same way as you. When I think back (to a year ago when I discovered the show) I struggled to get through the first 5 episodes of season 1, & only became invested after The Wedding, so if I didn't love Jamie & Claire I wouldn`t keep watching. I am not spoiled except for interviews prior to this season, but I think they are going to put down roots soon in South Carolina. I do miss many of the characters from season 1& 2 now after rewatching a few more times, even BJR, he was a villain worth hating!
  5. S04.E02: Do No Harm

I am hoping by NOT reading the book (ahead of the show) that we will be in for some surprises???
  6. S04.E02: Do No Harm

I am surprised that Claire always has a bottle of that stuff to kill people with on hand...
  7. S04.E02: Do No Harm

My takeaway was that Claire knew about slavery but haven’t faced living with it until that moment! And then she acted just like she always has- doing first, thinking later.
  8. S04.E01: America the Beautiful

Since a bunch of people liked your post you are NOT alone!
  9. The Outlander Podcasts

I did enjoy the Inside the Episodes that came with my i-tunes purchase for season 3. I appreciate you taking the time to explain that watching with the show running would certainly help. I may try again & start at the beginning!
  10. The Outlander Podcasts

I thought the podcast was boring (didn't finish it). It's the first time I've listened to one, should I listen to some earlier ones?
  11. S03.E08: First Wife

Does no one relate to poor Laoghaire? We all love Jamie & all he loves is Claire (forever I hope)! I think it was perfectly understandable that it was Laoghaire- Jamie sent Claire to be with a man who loved her, why shouldn't he be with a woman who loved him? Jamie wasn't going to give his heart to anyone else anyway, so I actually feel sorry for Laoghaire that she ever married Jamie, as she didn't get the love she craved! Then in this episode she was extra aweful- so isn't it convenient that we hate her & that makes it so easy that she is the throw away new wife? What if Jamie had married someone nice like Mary McNabb? What ever happened to her anyway??
  12. S04.E01: America the Beautiful

Don't reread it! I haven't read past Voyager (having fallen in love with the show-I read the first 3 books quickly after binge watching), but when talking to people-the book readers are the most unsatisfied unless they read it years ago.
  13. S04.E01: America the Beautiful

I assume Claire won't be pregnant when this war comes. I haven't read past Voyager, but she'll be too old!
  14. Outlander In The Media

I like him with the dark hair-I think it's better than the natural dirty blonde!
  15. S04.E01: America the Beautiful

I watched it again this morning. Things to love: Jamie & Claire as a solid, loving, long time married couple. How sweet that Jamie said they were married 24 years since most of that they weren't even together, but that all goes back to how Claire never left his mind during that time (which we saw so clearly in season 3). And of course his romantic words about it before that HOT sex scene! But I even liked the moments of them just talking-"I can hear what you're thinking from across the room". Jamie comforting Ian in the graveside scene-so moving! I love Young Ian, glad he's staying. Jamie smiling that fake smile for Gavin before his hanging! Bonnet was charming for a bad guy! I assume he stays around for a few seasons? Grandpa Jamie in the near future-Yay-I love Jamie with a baby! Glad Fergus & Marsali are staying too. The music in the last scene allowed Cait's acting to shine! Things to ignore: Green screen Banjos in the theme song-give me bagpipes any day over banjos-& I don't even really like them either! ( Not liking that theme song is probably an unpopular opinion) That Jamie & Claire never age- we like them beautiful, right?? Let them be!
