  1. Food Network and Cooking Channel: One is about food

here's an explanation of why FN sucks (spoiler: they're not here to teach you how to cook) http://www.grubstreet.com/2018/08/on-food-tv-its-netflix-versus-food-network.html
  2. All Episodes Talk

But it's sad. Sunny used to be a fairly low-key normal human on FN. Someone must think it's a good idea for her to be a caricature. Spot on :)
  3. Commercials That Annoy, Irritate or Outright Enrage

Nope. Features of AV will be around, in fact are around now. True autonomy is a LOONG way away.
  4. Jeopardy! Season 34 (2017-2018)

HA! Sounded like he was doing a (bad) Swedish Chef imitation. BORK BORK BORK
  5. Say What?: Commercials That Made Us Scratch Our Heads

It's supposed to be different. The idea is that the average buyer spends 2-4 hours at the dealership completing the transaction--signing crap, the session with the finance guy, a pitch for extended warranty, etc. The online transaction is intended to make it possible for everything to be done before you go to the dealer And only 5% of Americans order cars. Most of us buy from inventory, so a deposit is not an issue.

Kids, I'm in the industry and this is something that many companies are trying to make happen--instead of spending hours at a dealership, deal with it all on line. But it seems to me like test drive should be first, instead of wasting a bunch of time doing the "paperwork" only to find upon delivery that you don't like the car.
  7. All Episodes Talk: All Rise

I was building up to the process of proceeding to acquiring insurance. It had just lasped (sic) THAT VERY DAY
  8. Jeopardy! Season 34 (2017-2018)

Which may have helped (probably not) with the TS of Saginaw Bay. It's the space between the Thumb and the rest of the mitten.
  9. Food Network and Cooking Channel: One is about food

SOUTHERN COMFORT CAKE WARS! (not the liquor, although think of the sponsorship opportunity!) Perfect FN program. Southern cooking, comfort food, crazy cakes, and WARS!
  10. Jeopardy! Season 34 (2017-2018)

Bite your tongue. POP, POP! (channeling Magnitude!) I have my own Checkpoint Charlie story, circa 1972, which I'll save in case I ever get on Jeopardy (not really likely, but I have to have something) Steve Harvey as Jeopardy! host? I'd be so done. I hate that smarmy hypocritical smirking slimeball. I could tolerate Ken Jennings, though.

Mad props, AngelaHunter, for the use of the charming and underused enciente That shade tree mechanic looked...Satanish. Had the trans and transfer case been replaced, I imagine there was going to be more "it doesn't fit" news to come.
  12. Jeopardy! Season 34 (2017-2018)

Which, because I lived in Nevada from 1st through 5th grades, I can sing. At least the first verse Home means Nevada, home means the hills...home means the sage and the pines :) I've lived in Michigan for 40 years and have NO idea what the state song is!
  13. Jeopardy! Season 34 (2017-2018)

ABay, did you ever use either the Algonac or Marine City ferry to cross? I'm curious as to whether it would make for a more pleasant experience (although Marine City isn't running anymore) How the hell did they gape at manicotti and the Niagara River?

All I could think about the 17 YO parents was, that kid isn't going to be a Mensa member.
  15. Jeopardy! Season 34 (2017-2018)

I was a bit miffed that the Landlocked States category thinks bordering on the Great Lakes is still landlocked. Hey, those lakes are SEAS. Great Lakes states have coastlines and have a water path to the Atlantic Ocean.
