  1. Jeopardy! Season 34 (2017-2018)

Teebax, please let us all know when you get chosen for the show so we can be ready to root loud and long. Your comments here indicate that you will be a formidable player....
  2. What is...In the Media?

How far ahead are the jeopardy games taped? I was just wondering when we would get the new games after Alex has recovered? He started taping again in mid- January I think.
  3. The View: Week of 03/12/2018

Good post, Dr. Gailey! I've been wanting Joy to do that for some time now. Unless someone has stood in the classroom for 20-30-40 years they have no right to say what we should or should not be doing. I have been so proud of these kids - this is something that my Latin students would have done back in the 60's and 70's... Yesterday instead of ff-ing through MM's diatribes I just muted and when her lips stopped moving I unmuted. Stayed much calmer....
  4. Jeopardy! Season 34 (2017-2018)

If Lane had been one of my students I would have given him extra points for penmanship! That was incredible writing - very unusual and legible. Hope he stays awhile as I want to see more...
  5. Jeopardy! Season 34 (2017-2018)

I just assumed Jack was auditioning to be Alex's replacement while playing the game as he barked out each of his responses, I know it's because I'm old, but a ponytail on a man might be a deal breaker....
  6. Jeopardy! Season 34 (2017-2018)

I googled that oscar FJ question yesterday just as it was written because nothing came to mind, and it clearly came up Chaplin as the answer. I understand that Final Jeopardy website says he didn't get one of those nominations, but google disagrees. Possible something faulty in the cluing?
  7. S02.E15: Witness for the Prosecution

I can not believe that Hazel was played by Roma Maffia who's not quite 60 and very beautiful. I knew the voice but just couldn't call her name. Great makeup job... I enjoy Bull just for Michael Weatherly - just suspend all thoughts of Dr. Phil and it becomes much more entertaining...
  8. Jeopardy! Season 34 (2017-2018)

I may be missing something here, but is there another reason for doing the tiebreaker question besides not wanting to pay the two winners the full money? I used to enjoy the "2 returning champions" idea and it also seemed fairer. Couldn't Jeopardy afford to put out the money for these people who pay their own way there and the way home, plus double taxes on their winnings?
  9. "The View" Week Of 2/19/18

Whenever I get frustrated I send a message to abc.go.com/feedback. I doubt if it does a bit of good, but it makes me feel better. I have sent them many notes about MM and how she is destroying the tone of the show. I had never heard that she wanted to quit, so I might offer that next time I write to them. She's just so humorless, dour and argumentative. I scream at the TV multiple times during the show....
  10. Jeopardy! Season 34 (2017-2018)

They can do animal categories all they want (especially dogs) but there is no reason whatsoever to be showing snakes, especially the largest one there is... Whatever is keeping all the categories from being anwered needs to stop. They manage to cover them all in the preliminary championship games, so they can do it for all of them.
  11. Jeopardy! Season 34 (2017-2018)

I'm liking Rob , but I sure wish he'd start at the top of the clues. All the clue writers have to do is make the clues interconnected so that if they don't go in order, it will make them obscure. It seems like most of us don't like the hopping around - this would be a way to fix that... Alex, once again the master of the understatement: Looking at Matt "So, you were in a band? For some reason that struck me as very funny... Was very glad to see the reference to Ethan Frome - that was one of my favorites. Talk about "be careful what you wish for"...
  12. Jeopardy! Season 34 (2017-2018)

I would like to see one of you who is real computer creative come up with a petition we could all sign if we never want to see a celebrity-read set of inconsequential clues again. Any takers? Of all the categories, anagrams are one of my favorites, as well as other word play and literature.... I knew it was only a matter of time until we started having Austin-influenced contestants, just not this soon. From the opening gesture, to the look-at-me attitude I was immediately tirned off...
  13. Jeopardy! Season 34 (2017-2018)

OK, can anyone explain why it would matter if you stole from Lowe's or Home Depot if you were hiding in a nudist colony? That was the silliest clue I ever remember - what has happened to the clue writers? Are they all wanna-be comedians? There will never be a worse FJ answer than tuba - not possible. Referencing the 1950's and wanting something that could have a victory lap and is worth big bucks? He was probably too intent on looking at himself on the monitor.... Tunia, thanks. That is exactly who Marty looks like - minus David Ogden Stiers' usual sneer of superiority (probably just the character he is playing)
  14. Jeopardy! Season 34 (2017-2018)

For those of you with Jeopardy on NBC, don't forget about reddit.com/r/Jeopardy. Some nice person runs the show everyday on choices of sites....
  15. Jeopardy! Season 34 (2017-2018)

I knew where the CDC is because of an old Golden Girls episode. Atlanta always means Emory to me from my freshman college English professor who graduated from there. Love the new champion. He has one of those faces that you'd never get tired of looking at (for me that's William Petersen). Marty didn't have one annoying thing as far as I noticed and he seemed to be enjoying the game. Strong player...
